CCC's Street Art Contest #150 - Indigenous Man / Hombre Indígena

Undoubtedly this is one of the most complex murals that I have found in the city of Caracas, it is located a few meters inside the Parque del Oeste, I do not know the author of it, but undoubtedly its creator sought to condense in the same scene many symbols of Venezuelan culture, I would dare to say that this piece emphasizes our ancestral roots, but with a deep religious touch, where the public is shown a scene in which all the elements present remind us of the complexity of miscegenation which is our greatest treasure.

Sin duda alguna este es uno de los murales más complejos con los que me he encontrado en la ciudad de Caracas, el mismo se encuentra a pocos metros al interior del Parque del Oeste, desconozco al autor del mismo, pero sin duda alguna su creador busco condensar en una misma escena muchos símbolos de la cultura venezolana, me atrevería a decir que, en esta pieza se hace hincapié en nuestras raíces ancestrales, pero con un profundo toque religioso, en donde se le muestra al publico una escena en la cual todos los elementos presentes nos recuerdan lo complejo del mestizaje el cual es nuestro mayor tesoro.

When detailing well to the mural we can observe that it carries a kind of title which is: "Mamá Pancha" referring to a popular song whose author is Alí Primera and where the experiences of a praying midwife woman who must face the harsh reality that surrounds her are narrated, part of the lyrics of this song appears in the mural, just on one side we can observe a rosary, inescapable symbol of the Catholic faith and the existing love for the Virgin Mary, as a central image we can observe the figure of an old indigenous man, This gentleman could be a cacique, a shaman or a warrior, who inherits us his energy, constancy and heroism. Finally we can enjoy a perfect and delicate red rose enclosed in a bottle, which I dare not discern its meaning, but undoubtedly combines with the natural elements of the environment and gives a touch of life and color.

Al detallar bien al mural podemos observar que lleva una especie de titulo el cual es: “Mamá Pancha” haciendo referencia a una canción popular cuyo autor es Alí Primera y en donde se narran las vivencias de una mujer comadrona rezandera que debe afrontar la dura realidad que le rodea, parte de letra de esta canción aparece en el mural, justo de un lado podemos observar un rosario, símbolo ineludible de la fe católica y del amor existente por la Virgen María, como imagen central podemos observar la figura de un hombre indígena viejo, el cual los años de lucha y trabajo le han dejado en su rostro la huella imborrable del cansancio, pensándolo bien este caballero puede ser un cacique, un chaman o un guerrero, el cual nos hereda su energía, constancia y heroísmo, para finalizar podemos disfrutar de una perfecta y delicada rosa roja encerrada en un frasco, el cual no me atrevo a discernir su significado, pero sin duda alguna combina con los elementos naturales del entorno y le da un toque de vida y color.

Enjoying each mural is like living a great adventure, since in them we can discover many elements whose meaning can show us the heart of its author or the feeling of a people that refuses to abandon its roots, but is always standing up to fight to overcome adversity and conquer their goals and dreams.

Disfrutar de cada mural es como vivir una gran aventura, ya que en ellos podemos descubrir muchos elementos cuyo significado nos puede mostrar el corazón de su autor o el sentir de un pueblo que se niega a abandonar sus raíces, pero que siempre se encuentra en pie de lucha para vencer las adversidades y conquistar sus petas y sueños.
