De paso por Casalarreina / Passing through Casalarreina (Queen's House)

Hace poco tiempo estuvimos de paso en Casalarreina, un municipio de la región de La Rioja, situado en el norte de España. Por el propio municipio transcurre el río Oja y siguiendo la dirección del río, que según dicen da nombre a La Rioja, se llega al río Ebro. Éste último es el más caudaloso de España.

Casalarreina es uno de los municipios que forman parte de la Ruta del Vino de Rioja Alta :) y además posee un rico patrimonio cultural como el palacio del marqué de Pobes-Vargas, varias casas señoriales de piedra labrada (sillares) con blasones (escudos de armas) o el monasterio de la Piedad. Las fotos fueron tomadas durante un paseo rápido por el municipio.

A short time ago we were passing through Casalarreina, a municipality in the region of La Rioja, located in the north of Spain. The Oja river flows through the municipality itself and following the direction of the river, which is said to give its name to La Rioja, you reach the Ebro river. The latter is the largest river in Spain.

Casalarreina is one of the municipalities that are part of the Rioja Alta Wine Route :) and also has a rich cultural heritage such as the palace of the Marquis of Pobes-Vargas, several stately houses of carved stone (ashlars) with coats of arms or the monastery of La Piedad.
