Would you give all your knowledge to a stranger, considering that this knowledge is the most precious thing you have and can make you earn millions of dollars and change your future and that of the whole world? Well this is what narrates a story that apparently happened not long ago, just after the fall of the Berlin Wall, maybe you were being born like me, maybe you were not yet in this world or you already existed in it but you did not even remotely think that something like what I am about to tell you could be possible.

¿Le entregarías todo tu conocimiento a un desconocido, teniendo en cuenta que ese conocimiento es lo más preciado que tienes y te puede hacer ganar millones de dólares y cambiar tu futuro y el del mundo entero? Bueno esto es lo que narra una historia que al parecer sucedió y no hace mucho, justamente después de la caída del muro de Berlín, quizás estabas naciendo al igual que yo, también quizás aún no estabas en este mundo o ya existías en él pero ni remotamente pensaste que algo como lo que estoy a punto de contarte podría ser posible.

A story that talks about how corporations act, in this case Google, and the justice system that as always not so fair as we all know, about a couple of buddies born in Germany. This pair right in the middle of the internet boom were looking for, one on the one hand to innovate digital art (this term was already sounding at that time) and the other, a computer expert who imagined the internet as a form that should be in the public domain. They decided to create a program where with just one click you can access, view and tour the streets of any part of the world through your computer and from the comfort of your home. All this was an idea thought and realized at the beginning of the nineties. You must imagine what I am talking about and yes... it is nothing more and nothing less than "Terra View" a software where you can see the planet earth, look for the country of your preference and visit it as many times as you want. And made in Germany by two visionaries who thought of revolutionary ideas at an inopportune moment.

Una historia que habla sobre cómo actúan las corporaciones, en este caso Google, y el sistema de justicia que como siempre no tan justo como todos sabemos, sobre un par de compañeros nacidos en Alemania. Este par justamente en el pleno boom del internet buscaban, uno por un lado innovar el arte digital (este término ya venía sonando en ese entonces) y el otro, un experto en informática que imaginaba el internet como una forma que debía ser de dominio público. Ellos deciden crear un programa donde con solamente un click puedes acceder, ver y recorrer las calles de cualquier parte del mundo a través de tu computadora y desde la comodidad de tu casa. Todo esto fue una idea pensada y realizada al comienzo de los años noventa. Debes imaginarte de qué te hablo y sí… es nada más y nada menos que de “Terra View” un software donde puedes ver el planeta tierra, buscar el país de tu preferencia y visitarlo cuantas veces lo desees. Y realizado en Alemania por dos visionarios que pensaban ideas revolucionarias en un momento inoportuno.

The story unfolds very quickly until the world learns of their invention and this innovative couple and their team get noticed and with the same attention create their formal company called "Art+Com". At the beginning of their search for funding to improve their invention and make it reach more homes, the all powerful Google appears to appropriate "the billion dollar code" and make the most of someone else's idea, as they have already done with many other things, they do it by "creating their own form of algorithm" and the funny thing is that those who know computer science and programming take into account that when developing an algorithm can be done in an infinite number of ways to make it work and it is unlikely (but not impossible) to create an algorithm similar to another. Researching a little about this fact, it may or may not be true, so it gives much food for thought as many people, both Google employees and people in favor of "Art+Com" came out with many statements on this topic perhaps somewhat controversial.

La historia se desarrolla muy movida hasta que el mundo conoce de su invento y a esta pareja de innovadores junto a su equipo se hacen notar y con la misma atención crean su empresa formal llamada “Art+Com”. Al empezar su búsqueda de financiamiento para mejorar su invento y hacer que este llegue a más hogares, aparece el todo poderoso Google para apropiarse de “el código del Billón de dólares” y sacarle el máximo provecho de una idea ajena, así como ya lo han hecho con muchas otras cosas, ellos lo hacen “creando su forma propia de algoritmo” y lo curioso es que los que saben de informática y de programación tienen en cuenta que a la hora de elaborar un algoritmo se puede realizar de infinidades de maneras para que este funcione y es poco probable (más no imposible) crear un algoritmo parecido a otro. Investigando un poco sobre este hecho, puede que sea cierto o no, así que da mucho de qué pensar ya que muchas personas, tanto empleados de Google como personas en pro de “Art+Com” salieron al paso con muchos comunicados sobre este tema quizás un tanto polémico.

This is how you can find a documentary series that you can easily enjoy in an afternoon, almost at nightfall, as they have four chapters of one hour each and I assure you that it will hook you from the first moment it starts, a series that plays with your emotions and makes you live every moment for what they have to go through each protagonist. In it you can find a bit of humor, indignation, anger, a little bit of everything, without a doubt the director knew how to do a good job to play with all of this. Maybe it can remind you of "The Social Network" or "Silicon Valley" draw your own conclusions after watching it since I will only leave this opener for you to go and enjoy it, I assure you that you will not get lost.

Es así como te puedes encontrar una serie-documental que puedes disfrutar fácilmente en una tarde, casi cayendo la noche, ya que cuentan con cuatro capítulos de una hora cada uno y te aseguro que te va a enganchar desde el primer momento en que empieza, una serie que juega con tus emociones y hace que vivas cada momento por lo que tienen que pasar cada protagonista. En ella puedes encontrar un poco de humor, indignación, rabia, de todo un poco, sin lugar a duda el director supo hacer un buen trabajo para jugar con todo esto. Quizás te pueda recordar a “The Red Social” o “Silicon Valley” saca tus propias conclusiones luego de verla ya que yo solamente te dejare este abre bocas para que vayas y la disfrutes, te aseguro que no tendrá perdida.
