Hello!

Make yourself comfortable, get your snacks and water. Because I'm going to tell you something great.

Every time I say "electric guitar solo" you drink a glass of water.

I live in Barinas, Venezuela. At the moment.

I was invited to a collaboration of local guitarists. And I'm editing a video with all those who want to participate in this event.

We used my laptop for the audiovisual editing, but always with the help of our friend Ricardo Polo.

One of the participants (Dickley Nieves) made a base from scratch. Where each one will present a totally unpublished solo. The genre of this base is Metal.

We wanted to integrate our guitar teacher (Richard Chang). Placing a special jazz-style part in the middle of the whole heavy genre.

The first part has been to record the electric guitar solos. Here we are at Ronaldo Rivas' house, a great friend for years.

That's his cat. We could be playing the heaviest music in the world and he'd be there as fresh as a daisy. Heavy Metal cat.

That night, it was pizza night. The experience of recording my guitar solo was great.

Basically I took the afternoon to organize my ideas. Ricardo Polo arrived with his interface, we looped my part and I started to improvise.

I spent 1-hour improvising in a loop. This is because I really took it as something recreational. I enjoyed it a lot. The base is very good.

We had a .mp3 of the whole track but I wanted to write my part to find out what notes the harmony chords used.

You know, and so I can locate myself more.

This is the part that was my turn. I purposely asked for the quiet part. Although the whole base is very good, I could do a guitar solo on the whole track with no problem.

My electric guitar is in this tuning shown. Dropped C tuning.

At this moment all the guitar solos of the collaboration are already recorded.

We are in the Audio Visual phase.

We are 10 participants.

The track lasts 5:34 minutes. Each one had between 30 to 40 seconds approximately.

I've listened to the whole song about 700 times.

Here we are in the room I use for recording, editing, and napping. My "level 1" studio.

There's Ricardo eating cachapa minutes before going to record the solos.

The creation part has been very creative. Not only are the unreleased guitar solos so good. I've also had to watch the videos of all of them since we are editing them here in the studio.

And I'm currently editing mine, here's a little preview of how it looks like:

The t-shirt I have says "Stay young".

This video I am creating has something special that I want to add to it. And that is that I want to add things that have my energy. And since I like video games... I'm adding a gaming touch. I won't make any more spoilers.

My video is very Christmassy hahaha Merry Christmas to all!.

By the way, I will edit and share with everyone this great collaboration we have done. That's what it was created for.

It has been a great exercise for us to achieve this. To give life to a musical movement in our town. And obviously, it is not an easy job, but we have been persistent in completing it.

I'll be sharing the final video soon!

See you musically until then. Greetings.

Thanks for reading!

¡Hola!

¡Saludos!.

¡Gracias por leer!

Those guitars looks pretty expensive.
I know that the time spent there must be pretty worth it.
There is a funny part of the post where you said that cat doesn't apparently minds no matter the heavy metal music that you play...... I guess you called it a heavy metal cat...
However, the setup is also dope and of course a beautifully melodious music will come forth from a set up of such.

The pizza is also catchy and attractive such that I salivated while just looking at it.

Hi, I already put it as "Heavy Metal Cat". Yes I meant the cat is a fan of the music genre. Thanks for the correction in English. My native language is Spanish I am still learning English. This guitar is low end. It costs around 120 USD.

Wait for the video with everything already edited and ready. There will be 10 guitarists presenting their musical compositions, each one with their own style.
