Mi nuevo trabajo práctico en proyecto 2 ya comenzó y para empezar nos tocó investigar y visitar un museo, elegimos con mi grupo el museo de arte moderno de Buenos Aires, antes conocido como el MAMBA y ahora como el moderno, fuimos en busca de una exposición que nos de herramientas para el trabajo institucional, era la primera vez que iba a este museo, tengo ganas de ir a más, pero la verdad es que mis fines de semana siguen estando super ocupados.

My new practical work in project 2 has already begun and to start we had to research and visit a museum. My group and I chose the Museum of Modern Art in Buenos Aires, formerly known as MAMBA and now as the Modern. We went in search of an exhibition that would give us tools for institutional work. It was the first time I went to this museum. I want to go to more, but the truth is that my weekends are still super busy.

La entrada en este museo cuesta entre 2 dólares a 10, depende de si sos argentino, latinoamericano o extranjero de otro lado, es rara esta separación, pero se entiende y que los locales paguemos menos está bien.

Admission to this museum costs between $2 and $10, depending on whether you're Argentine, Latin American, or a foreigner from somewhere else. This separation is strange, but it's understandable, and it's fine for locals to pay less.

Es un museo pequeño comparado con otros a los que fui, por ejemplo, el museo de ciencias naturales es super grande o hay tanto que ver que uno se pierde, o el museo de bellas artes que está repleto de cuadros, pero el moderno expone artistas argentinos y muy particulares.

It's a small museum compared to others I've been to. For example, the Natural History Museum is so big, or there's so much to see that you get lost. The Fine Arts Museum is packed with paintings, but the Modern Museum exhibits Argentine artists and very unique ones.

Las exposiciones en este museo están cargadas de política, todas las muestras lo tienen, en Argentina la dictadura fue un hecho muy traumático para todo el país y aún sigue siendo algo presente, muchas de las esculturas y cuadros expuestos están cargadas de ese hecho, por lo que los artistas sufrieron directa o indirectamente.

The exhibitions in this museum are charged with politics—all of them are. In Argentina, the dictatorship was a very traumatic event for the entire country, and it's still a present issue. Many of the sculptures and paintings on display are charged with that fact, which is why the artists suffered directly or indirectly.

El museo nos recibe con la muestra de Dalila Puzzovio, una diseñadora de modas argentina, actualmente Dalila tiene 82 años y su obra está expuesta a modo de recorrido por su vida y su arte porque también trabajo mucho las artes plásticas con una impronta muy marcada y bastante increíble.

The museum welcomes us with an exhibition by Dalila Puzzovio, an Argentine fashion designer. Dalila is currently 82 years old, and her work is displayed as a journey through her life and her art, as she also worked extensively in the visual arts, with a very marked and quite incredible imprint.

Mucha de su obra está marcada por los diferentes sucesos de su vida, por ejemplo, hay toda una sala dedicada a varias de sus obras pero que trabaja el mismo material, yeso, por un lado, tenemos cascaras donde expone yesos usados, ya que ella se fracturó y ese hecho le dispara que el yeso es una especie de cascara que la gente deja.

Much of her work is marked by the different events of her life, for example, there is an entire room dedicated to several of her works but which works with the same material, plaster. On the one hand, we have shells where she exhibits used casts, since she fractured her bone and that fact triggered in her that plaster is a kind of shell that people leave behind.

Por otro lado, están los corsés gigantes donde expone diferentes piezas, una de las más sorprendentes es su capsula del tiempo, donde expone sus piezas más importantes para ella., en el otro es una especie de funeral y el último es una inspiración sobre cómo se veía a la mujer.

Hay fotos que ella también dirigió, su visión de como algo tan hermoso como un casamiento sucedía mientras la vida de las personas se venían abajo, con la ampliación de la avenida 9 de julio de la ciudad de Buenos Aires, esta foto se tomó en 1979, las imágenes son muy impactantes, la ciudad era un caos, recordemos que Argentina estaba bajo la dictadura en ese momento, toda esta puesta en escena quería mostrar un poco eso.

There are photos that she also directed, her vision of how something as beautiful as a wedding happened while people's lives fell apart, with the widening of 9 de Julio Avenue in the city of Buenos Aires. This photo was taken in 1979, the images are very striking, the city was in chaos, let's remember that Argentina was under a dictatorship at that time, this whole staging wanted to show a little of that.

Dalila Puzzovio también hizo tejidos con una máquina Knittax, creo varias piezas y también vestuario para películas, sus figurines de moda eran hechos a mano.

Dalila Puzzovio also knitted with a Knittax machine, created several pieces and also costumes for films, her fashion figures were handmade.

Con el tejido también se dedicó a hacer algunos tapices de pared, muy hermosos también.

Along with weaving, she also dedicated herself to making some very beautiful wall hangings.

Creo que lo que más me gustó de la exposición fue la línea de zapatos que lanzó en colaboración con una marca, era una obra de arte que se podía comprar y usar, llamada doble plataforma, trabajo con la fábrica de zapatos Grimoldi.

I think what I liked most about the exhibition was the shoe line launched in collaboration with a brand. It was a work of art that you could buy and wear, called Double Platform, a work in collaboration with the Grimoldi shoe factory.

También hay una recreación de su sala de estar, todo muy ella, realmente es una persona muy creativa, y se nota el arte en todo lo que hace, trasgresor, llamativo y provocativo, ante todo.

There's also a recreation of her living room, all very much her. She's truly a very creative person, and you can see the artistry in everything she does—transgressive, striking, and provocative, above all.

Estas obras forman parte de la exposición arte es teatro del museo moderno, hay otras muestras de artistas en el museo, pero llegamos apenas abría así que seguimos el recorrido sobre la obra de Dalila Puzzovio que de casualidad pudimos encontrar una visita guiada y mucho de lo que les conté era parte de la visita, si están en busca de inspiración o simplemente hacer algo diferente un sábado el museo de arte moderno es un gran plan.

These works are part of the exhibition Art is Theatre at the Modern Museum. There are other exhibitions by artists in the museum, but we arrived just as it opened, so we followed the tour of Dalila Puzzovio's work. By chance, we were able to find a guided tour, and much of what I told you about was part of the visit. If you're looking for inspiration or just something different to do on a Saturday, the Modern Art Museum is a great plan.
