[Book] The Rump of a Roman Horse(eng-spn)

Greetings, on this occasion I would like to review a reading I found in the book La Culpa es de la Vaca (The Cow's Fault): Anecdotes, Parables, Fables, and Reflections on Leadership, compiled by Jaime Lopera Gutiérrez and María Luisa Bernal Trujillo. One of the stories in this book is called:

The Rump of a Roman Horse

It begins with a short, reflective reading that goes like this:

"...some things are done a certain way because they've always been done that way."

This story explores how certain practices from the past determine whether they continue to be followed in the present. It questions why we always follow established patterns, often without questioning them simply because that's how it's always been done.

Upon reading this story, the first thing that comes to mind, and almost astonishes you, is the realization of a profound truth: we often don't question what we see or hear, and we simply do things "just because." I believe it's essential to learn to question everything and ask ourselves if it's possible to do things differently. It's also vital to teach our children that it's okay to doubt and ask questions, since adults tend to tell them that things are the way they are, period. We must realize that not everything that happens has to be accepted out of habit or simply because of tradition.

Saludos cordiales, en esta oportunidad quiero hacer la reseña de una lectura que encontré en el libro La Culpa es de la Vaca Anécdotas, parábolas, fábulas y reflexiones sobre el liderazgo, compilados por Jaime Lopera Gutiérrez y María Luisa Bernal Trujillo. Una de las historias de este libro llamada:

El Anca de un Caballo Romano

cuya historia comienza con una pequeña lectura reflexiva que dice así:

"...algunas cosas se hacen de cierta forma porque siempre se hicieron así."

Es una lectura que trata sobre como ciertas cosas que se hicieron en el pasado determina en la actualidad que se sigan haciendo de esa forma. Cuestiona que siempre de alguna u otra forma seguimos los patrones impuestos y muchas veces no los cuestionamos porque siempre ha sido así.

Al leer esta historia, lo primero que se te viene a la mente y que casi te asombra; es notar una gran verdad: muchas veces no cuestionamos lo que vemos u oímos, y simplemente hacemos las cosas "porque sí". Creo que es fundamental aprender a cuestionarlo todo y preguntarnos si es posible hacer las cosas de otra manera. También es vital enseñar a nuestros hijos que está bien dudar y preguntar, ya que los adultos tendemos a repetirles que las cosas son así y punto. Debemos tomar conciencia de que no todo lo que sucede tiene que ser aceptado por inercia o por simple tradición.
