Women and freedom of expression - "Freedom of Speech - Initiative #FreeSpeech" by @yusmi

Hello dear community, I am greeting you from Venezuela by teacher Yusmi to express my opinion on the topic proposed by my friend @theycallmedan about freedom of expression in general. I am going to refer to it from the point of view of women and how historically we have been censored and silenced for the simple fact of not having the status of men in society but that little by little we have been gaining ground in rights and equality.

Hola querida comunidad, los saludo desde Venezuela de la mano del maestro Yusmi para expresar mi opinión sobre el tema propuesto por mi amigo @theycallmedan sobre la libertad de expresión en general. Me voy a referir a él desde el punto de vista de las mujeres y como históricamente hemos sido censurados y silenciados por el simple hecho de no tener la condición de hombres en la sociedad pero que poco a poco hemos ido ganando terreno en derechos e igualdad.

For me, freedom of expression is like a divine right emanating from God so that we can, through our voices, hands, body, looks and other gestures, express ourselves freely without any taboo or fear of being repressed simply because we openly manifest what we think. In my years of life I have never been the object of racial or even sexual discrimination, but I do know those who have suffered in other parts of the world from being singled out and even disappeared for speaking their minds.

Para mí, la libertad de expresión es como un derecho divino que emana de Dios para que podamos, a través de nuestras voces, manos, cuerpo, miradas y otros gestos, expresarnos libremente sin ningún tabú o miedo a ser reprimidos simplemente porque manifestamos abiertamente lo que pensamos. En mis años de vida nunca he sido objeto de discriminación racial o incluso sexual, pero conozco a aquellos que han sufrido en otras partes del mundo por ser señalados e incluso desaparecidos por decir lo que piensan.

As I said before; women have always been silenced and censored for centuries and even today our opinions are subject to review, analysis and subsequent approval. The majority of the communities within the Beehive are directed by men who set the norms and rules for their functioning, relegating women only to the role of moderators as I have observed.

Como dije antes, las mujeres siempre han sido silenciadas y censuradas durante siglos y aún hoy nuestras opiniones están sujetas a revisión, análisis y posterior aprobación. La mayoría de las comunidades dentro de la Colmena están dirigidas por hombres que establecen las normas y reglas para su funcionamiento, relegando a las mujeres sólo al papel de moderadoras como he observado.

Although there are many media and social networks today, I have observed censorship on issues related to racism, sexuality, politics and religion. Youtube channels closed and twitter and facebook accounts blocked for simply not writing what is convenient for ruling class interests. That is why I think it is important to defend freedom of expression at all costs as it is our most sacred possession.

Aunque hoy en día existen muchos medios de comunicación y redes sociales he observado la censura en temas relacionados con el racismo, la sexualidad, la política y la religión. Canales de Youtube cerrados y cuentas de twitter y facebook bloqueadas por simplemente no escribir lo que conviene a favor de intereses de clases dominantes. Por tal motivo pienso que si es importante defender la libertad de expresión a toda costa ya que es nuestra posesión más sagrada.
