Good day everyone splinterlands community, zactian here. Today I'll blog about another weekly challenge, Battle Mage Secrets, and share my strategy.

What Account Use

I'll play my main Account (IGN: BLZTR-WIZARD-728). I will reveal my primary technique in this rule-set max-level cards in a modern format.

Challenge Rule set

FIRE & REGRET is the challenge, which all units gain the ability of Return Fire, an ability that can backfire when hit with a range attack.

Comment below with your opinions on the potential lineups at this level. Is it effective for this battle ruleset? Let's see and match up with the Fire & Regret rule set.

Fire & Regret

INTO THE BATTLE:

Rule Set

Going the Distance

  • Only Range units are usable in this match.
    FIRE & REGRET
  • All units will gain the ability of Return Fire.
    Blood Sunder
  • All units gain the ability of Corrosive Ward.

Recommended summoner to use FIRE & REGRET for this match:

In this case, I recommend Lux Vega for a Defensive type of strategy, Grandmaster Rathe for utilizing the ability Amplify together with the Fire & Regret rule set, Quix the Devius if you want to Dominate the opponent in speed, General Sloan for Domoniting in damage but its a bit risky, and Tarsa for extra health and this element also have Molten Ash Golem perfect for this rule given because of its massive health that will hopefully tank those attacks and survive most of the rounds.

Note: I only have limited cards but they are useful in some rule sets and I will try my best to win with existing cards. So if you want a high chance of winning, I advise you to rent or buy useful or stronger cards for most rule sets.

Tarsa

  • adds 1 for both melee and health.
    • Ideal choice for low mana cap rule set, I want to choose this because I plan to use Moltem Ash Golem strategy and I didn't want to pick Quix the Devious as I plan to utilize the damage backfire of Fire & Regret rule set.
Not much it can do about melee because of the Going the Distance rule set. Most of this unit element has Close Range abilities and Decent speed to use in the battle strategy.

Link of the battle: RUMBLE

My Lineup

First position - Molten Ash Golem
  • Acts as a tank in the first position because of its massive health and Close Range ability attack.
Second position - Xenith Archer
  • Acts as extra damage and tank if the opponent uses the Snipe ability.
Third position - Lava Spider
  • This is a good position for Lava Spider because I want this unit to survive at least most of the rounds and have a chance of applying poison to the opponent.
Fourth position - Pyrewatch Devil
  • Another support damage that also I hope will survive most of the round battles, I choose this because of its useful abilities the Life Leech and Dispel.

Analyzing Battle

As you can see it is a battle of Endurance where health difference is a must to have with useful certain abilities. The opponent uses Quix the Devious summoner combined with a life element. I think the strategy opponent wants to dominate in damage and speed. The opponent has Kharst Harpy, Naga Assasin, and Anachron Bolter for I think this is the main core damage of the opponent because of hybrid attack, Magic, and Range damage. overall the opponent lineup is good for the strategy of using Anachron Bolter in a low mana cap.

Effective or not?

My Lava Spider did execute well in applying poison to enemy units giving me a higher chance of winning this battle, and since I got the upper hand in terms of Health most of my units were able to survive compared to enemy units. I think the opponent Anachron Bolter just needs a bit of damage and level cards, I might lose the battle if the opponent uses Marty's ability on this unit, and useful in a low mana cap rule set line-up. And yes this is a simple line-up but useful in every battle.

My favorite line-up in the element is water where most units found are high in speed, If you want to use Water Line-up, please read over some of my blogs, hoping they could be useful. 😊

Yeah that's what I thought too, that's why I didn't pick Quix. Would be great if there a Range Unit that has Amplify Ability so that it can backfire true dmg hahaha
