Hello everyone zak40k here again with another Detachment review for Space Marines.

I have already done the following Detachments: Gladius Task Force, Anvil Siege Force, Firestorm Assault Force, Stormlance Task Force, Vanguard Spearhead, Ironstorm Spearhead, 1st Company Task Force, Blade of Ultramar, Emperor's Shield, Spearpoint Task Force, Forgefather's Seekers, Shadowmark Talon, Librarius Conclave

As explained in the post The Future of Warhammer 40k Datasheet Reviews on Hive - Faction Pack orientated we are now going to be doing reviews based on the new Faction Packs.

That leaves the following: Reclamation Force, Orbital Assault Force, Headhunter Task Force, Hammer of Avernii, Ceramite Sentinels, Bastion Task Force, Armoured Speartip, Fulguris Task Force, Subversion Assets.

Let's do Bastion Task Force!

This post is based on Faction Pack Space Marines that have more Detachments than Codex Space Marines and it replaces everything that happened prior. There are small changes and these changes are based on what can be found online at www.warhammer-community.com.

Note that this Detachment makes use of the Space Marine Army Rule, Oath of Moment.

This Detachment is base on Battleline support!

Bastion Task Force - 2DP - Take and Hold

Detachment Rule - Interlocking Tactics

Adeptus Astartes Battleline units from your army can do the following:

Shoot and Charge in a turn they Advances or Fell Back.
Is Eligible to start performing an Action in a turn which they Advanced or Fell Back

Each time a Battleline unit attacks an enemy unit, that unit is Auspex Scanned. Until the end of the turn, whenever an Adeptus Astartes unit targets an Auspex Scanned unit, they can re-roll Hit Rolls of 1.

Enhancements

Most Detachments have 4 Enhancements. These can only be given to Characters that qualify and never to Epic Heroes. You may only select up to three Enhancements to field at the same time. The Points indicated nect to these Enhancements are stated as they are at the time of writing this article. They may change in the latest Minutorum Field Manual.

Eye of the Primarch - 10pts

Adeptus Astartes psyker model only. Ranged weapons equipped by the bearer and Battleline units in the bearer's unit have the Precision rule.

Review Precision allows you to kill leader units before their Bodyguard.

Hero of the Chapter - 20pts

Adeptus Astartes model only.

The bearer's unit has the Battleline keyword.

Blades of Valour - 15pts

Adeptus Astartes model only.

Improve AP of melee weapons by 1 as well as Battleline models in the squad -1AP.

Review Assault Intercessors with AP-2 Chainswords! Or even... Blood Claws!

Bombast Omnivox - 15pts

When you target this unit with a Stratagem, roll a D6, on a 4+ you gain 1CP.

Stratagems

Codex Discipline - 1 CP

When: Your Shoot or Fight phase.
Target: One Adeptus Astartes unit that has not yet shot or fought.
Effect: Until the end of the phase, each time a model in the unit makes an attack, re-rill Hit rolls of 1. If that target is auspex scanned then they can re-roll Wound rolls of 1s instead.

Guided Disruption - 1CP

When: Your Shooting Phase or the Fight Phase after unit has finished making its attacks
Target: One Adeptus Astartes Battleline unit from your army.
Effect: If the enemy unit is not a Monster of Vehicle and they were Auspex Scanned they are now Pinned. A Pinned unit Subtracts 2 from Movement and Charge rolls.

Review A Slow Down move, but you need to Auspex scan the unit with a Battleline unit of your own.

Light of Vengeance - 1CP

When: Your Shooting Phase or the Fights Phase
Target: One Adeptus Astartes unit that has not been selected to fight or shoot this phase.
Effect: Until the end of the phase, the units's attacks have either got Lethal Hits or Sustained Hits 1 but the target must an Auspex Scanned target.

Shock Bombardment - 1CP

When: Your Shooting Phase or the Fights Phase or at the end of an attack made by a Battleline unit in your army.
Target: That Battleline unit.
Effect: If an enemy unit is Auspex Scanned, they are Suppressed. When a Suppressed unit makes an attack, subtract 1 from the Hit roll.

Angels Defiant - 1CP

When: Your opponent's Shooting Phase or the Fights Phase
Target: One Adeptus Astartes Battleline unit that was the target of those attacks.
Effect: Until the end of the Phase, each time this unit is attacked, if the Strength of the weapon is higher than this unit's Toughness, then apply a -1 to Wound modifier to the dice rolls.
.

Heresy Undone

When: Your Shooting Phase or your Charge Phase
Target: One Adeptus Astartes unit, excluding Battleline units.
Effect: This unit is able to shoot and declare a chance if it Advanced or Fell back as long as the target of the shooting is an Auspex Scanned target and if using this rule to Charge, the target must have been an Auspex Scanned unit.

Review

This Detachment has great core rules, great upgrades and then somewhat situational use of Stratagems that needs you to Auspex scan key units. So you would need to be a seasoned player to use this effectively.

Thank you for reading this review!
