GARDENING - Harvesting Parslane from the garden!

Good day everyone. Zak Ludick here from a sunny but windy Cape Town, South Africa. In the garden, I have various little veggies and herbs doing their thing. And then the Parslane began to grow!
At first, I weeded them out, but then I was informed that they are actually a very nutritious indigenous food in South Africa by @fermentedphil.
So I left them alone and started watering them.
I decided I wanted to try @fermentedphil's chutney recipe and for that I would need to harvest some of the parslane. I decided to go for the parslane growing between the paving stones of the pathways first...

There is so much of it, just in the pathways alone!

When collecting them in a container, you end up with a lot of seeds in the container. The slightest movement and the plant shoots out seeds all over the place!

Look at that large container filled up and I have only cleared a bit of the pathway. I ended up filling the container twice and had not yet gone into the veggie beds where they grow alongside my basil and green pepper plants!

So @aimeludick and I set to work. Picking off all the leaves and casting the stalks aside. It took quite a while!

With all of this processed...

We now have this mass of parslane!
I have not made the chutney yet, but we have put some of this into our food already as we are cooking. Any time you would need a green leafy vegetable, you can use the parslane instead!
Stay tuned for the chutney!
Cheers!
@zakludick

I wish I could get warm from the sun at your end, we are experiencing cold at this time of the here which is unusual.
Sometimes we don't know that some plants are good for consumption and I am looking forward to what the end product of the Parslane after cooking.
May you find warmth!
Congratulations on your harvest. It's different if you have some edible plants at home. You can get anything without spending.
That is eventually the plan!
Can't wait to start making the chutney😉😉
