Gardening Update - I feel a lot better!

Good day everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa with another Gardening update!

A little while ago I was not feeling well but I had a lot of work to do so I got stuck into the garden work and got a whole lot of stuff done!

I was not feeling well physically but I can tell you for 100% certain that after working a bit outside and grubbing around in the dirt I felt spans better.

Afterwards, I rested deeper and then recovered from my flu. My wife, who is taking anti-biotics is still sick and I have recovered. Make of THAT what you will!

So let's see some pictures of what I did. Sometimes the order of the photos load weird...

Tree Work

So the tree work is all about keeping them trimmed and shaping them and in exchange I am adding additional material to my compost heap.

Trees - I cleared most of the suckers off this tree, it still has a lot of them but I was running out of time at that moment. I will do the rest when I go back to the garden again.

Trees - This tree had been covered in suckers. It has been completely cleaned up. You can see all the removed leaves and branches behind it in the compost heap!

Trees - New suckers on a tree that did not have suckers before!

Onion diary

With the onions, I am not treating it as all one big crop. I am merely taking the bottom cuts of the Onions that I cook, sticking them into water and letting them grow roots and leaves and then planting them all over. Since I tend the garden continually I am just keeping track of their ages and I have yet to harvest any but it is a constant cycle.

Below you can see three tiny onions. I don't know how big they can get but I will explore and learn!

Onions - the Three-headed onion bunch.

Onions - the Three-headed onion bunch. Slightly unearthed.

Onions - A close-up of the fused onions. Can you believe that this was just a cutting in my kitchen at one stage?

Onions - The trio of onions split!

Onions - A separated onion replanted!

Onions - Another Replanted Onion!

Onions - A double-headed onion cutting.

Onions - This Double Headed onion is not yet ready to split.

Onions - Lots of Onion Cuttings are growing!

Harvesting

In a little garden like this it is possible to clean and harvest as I go along. When it comes to Basil, the plants need a trim, but the trimmings are edible!

Harvesting - De-weeding and Harvesting gets done at the same time into different containers.

Harvest - The harvested herbs and plants are first washed in a colander to was off any dirt, bugs or whatever.

Harvest - My harvest and processed herbs and edible plants.

Other items

Lawn - Some watering in progress!

Garden Bed - Basil, Parslane, Onions and Garlic all growing together. I will clear a space here to plant out more onion cuttings.

Garden Bed - Some Spekboom (Portulacaria afra) cuttings that are still growing slowly. One put had nothing in it and now has a bunch of Parslane growing in it!

Thank you for reading my update!

Cheers!

I like this style of rooting, I think I am going to try it out. By the way, can I also try it out on garlic?
