Maledictus Terra Book 2: Sanguifex Part 101
Introduction
Welcome back to Maledicturs Terra. This is a Chain Story between myself and @lex-zaiya, meaning that we each write the parts alternatively.

Part 101
Millmor's eyes went wide with shock as did everyone in the room that knew what Millmor really was.
"What have you done?!" Yelled Magna at the top of her lungs and scrambled for her sword which lay sheathed behind her. Adiran, Aidan, Leo and Anna all bolted upright to get hold of their weapons.
Even as all this happened Millmor's eye dilated and the pupil tore down the eye and became that of a predator's like a tiger's, the Ghoul King's pupils. "Raaaaaaghhhh! Fool!.... Why? Get back!"
The hulking man fell forward on to his hands and knees when the change happened. His was guttural as he coughed out a few last words that he could still control. "Derric... Derric please... flee... or slay.... me..."
Magna looked at Derric and saw that he just stared, shocked at what was happening to Millmor, his life-long guardian. Magna knew in an instant that Derric loved the Ghoul King. That Derric had spent hundreds of years as a child in Millmor's care.
White mounds of muscle exploded and rippled as Millmor expanded. Clawed hands replaced the large digits of the man, his beard was also gone in his face turned into a lipless snarl of drooling fangs.
Leo and Anna sprang forward, courageously intervening as Millmor's forward momentum began. A searing light from Anna's hand flashed over the Ghoul King's pale flesh and it shrieked. An instant recoil, and then a backhand sent the armored knight flying through the air to sprawl some yards distant.
Meanwhile Leo's sword slashed down, chopping into a meaty shoulder. Bright arterial blood flowed from the wound, very much unlike other undead that Magna had fought before. With a roar of pain the Ghoul King retaliated, his clawed hand slashed at the knight from shoulder to waist, raking long cuts through the knights armor. Leo fell and did not get back up again.
A bestial roar resounded as the King of Clarpratia devolved into his battle-ready form that was equally savage, his claws as long as knives. He launched his considerable bulk at the Ghoul King and the two of them went end over end. Blood was drawn from both combatants as they clawed and bit into one another like two massive cats brawling.
As they tumbled they came over the place where the party's fire was. Sebastian was at the bottom in that moment and the Ghoul King gripped the King's head and rammed it down onto the iron skillet that was now overturned on the cobblestones. With a thud that had the crunch of bone to it, the King went limp and the Ghoul King ignored the body.
Magna did not know whether her uncle was still alive or dead but a fury was unleashed inside her. It was a fury that melted all fear in her soul and it gave her warmth... and searing wrath.
Her sword erupted in flame and there was a roar in her ears that took her a moment to realize that came from her own throat. The beast came charging on, intent on gripping Derric apart. She strode forward to intercept.
Suddenly the Ghoul King stopped dead in its tracks. The ground around its feet froze solidly. It looked down, trying to move itself in its muscled haunches and clawed feet but the ice rapidly grew and froze it in place.
Magna's nose itched as she followed the trail of ice back from the Ghoul King to her brother. The boy Prince had a terrible scowl on his face and with a grim look stalked toward Magna. He reached out a hand, too late Magna realized that he was going for her sword.
He is going to be burned! She thought, but the instant her twin touched her sword, the flame died out and the steel turned icy in Magna's grip. It was so cold that she dropped the blade because of the pain that it caused.
She tried to move but the ice was trapping her feet as well. Adrian continued to walk toward the trapped Ghoul King. It was trying to free its feet by clawing at the ice at its feet. When the boy was near enough, it lunged out to claw at Adrian but a wave of ice snagged its one arm and then the other as it tried a futile attempt claw at the Prince.
Adrian stopped and looked at Vitex. "You are a fool... no... you are a child." He scowled then in the direction of Mortis. "Bellum. Take responsibility for the actions of your little sister. Make this right!"
Magna felt so cold, she could not focus on what her brother was saying or what was happening around her. She was stuck. She could not move, or speak... she struggled to think. Cold, cold, so very cold.
She felt darkness clouding her mind. She could not think.
