Maledictus Terra Book 2: Sanguifex Part 89
Introduction
Welcome back to Maledicturs Terra. This is a Chain Story between myself and @lex-zaiya, meaning that we each write the parts alternatively.

Part 89
The words had barely left Magna's lips than she sagged where she stood, before her knees could hit the floor boards she lifted again by reflex as Magna's consciousness returned to her body.
"Magna!" Adrian rushed forward to grip his sister by her arms. "Are you alright?"
Magna was holding her forehead and rubbed between her eyes. "That was the strangest feeling. I... I am alright..." She looked up to stare at her brother and smiled. "Somehow I managed to make it all work out... in the end."
"No!" A scream erupted from the floor as King Adrian rose in a flurry of torn clothing and wild hair. The dark mage had no more power left, but that did not mean that he was not dangerous.
The otherworldly monarch ripped a blade free from his clothing and charged at Adiran who had been unable to access his magic while Magna had been possessed and whose focus was on the twins.
"Die!" The madman screamed as he plunged the hooked blade toward Adiran's chest. There was a slow moment while Magna could see that Adiran had not noticed the attack in time, discounting the disinvested mage.
Magna willed her body into action, to sprint, to travel across this impossible distance... and she knew that she would fail.
The blade was going for Adiran's heart.
THUNK
The blade struck through skin, muscle, bits of bone that got in the way but ultimately ripping through a gap between ribs and sinking deep into the heart causing massive internal damage.
Magna managed to grip King Adiran's shoulders and pulled then man back so hard that he left his dagger behind. Mortis laid his blade on the man's chest and put a boot on his neck.
Adiran caught Lucien's body as he slumped while blood spilled from the wound in his chest. The two old friends sunk slowly on to the floor and the former Lifedrinker smiles and coughed which caused him to wince and cough some more.
"No..." Adiran said softly. "Why? Why did you do that?"
Lucien merely smiled up at Adiran, unable to speak.
"My my.... how unfortunate that he does not still have the Lifedrinker's curse." The white elk said. It walked forward and its form began to shimmer and shift. Its body seemed to melt with a pure-white glow as the elk reformed itself on to a two-legged shape.
The glow faded and in its place the elk had turned into a woman with pure white hair and long pointed ears. She knelt over Lucien, spreading her pure white dress out around her on the dirty floor.
Magna craned her head forward to get a good look at the woman, she was beautiful but also distinctly inhuman.
"There there little one..." She murmured and lay her hand on his head while her other hand gripped the dagger and drew it out of Lucien's chest slowly. Lucien winced and writhed, blood pouring from his mouth. "Shhhh, be still... you will be fine little one... you are mine and I won't just let you die.
At her fingertips, situated around the wound in Lucien's chest began to glow softly.
Its a bit of a short one but it is all I had time for!
