The Premise of Hive Progress

At the end of 2021 I returned to the blockchain. I returned with a whole family in tow! I met a beautiful woman who makes me very happy and together we have 3 children, currently aged 13,11 and 9.

All 5 of us have our own Hive accounts and I plan on assisting them in learning and growing on the platform. Part of that is making THIS record of that journey.

This will serve as a roadmap for the family, a place for new users and other families to see how we fare and as something that we can all look back on years into the future and read how it all started.

An additional Goal

I hang around on the Ecency Discord Server (Join us here!) and it was in our discussions there that I shared my dream to onboard more users on to Hive. After all, it was not just about growing strong, the platform and economy need more and more adoption.

However, just getting people to sign up to Hive is not enough. We get that a lot in our silly cancel culture - People accept and like a link. That's enough on Facebook and the like. They "like" it and they register.

On Hive things are different. These users mean nothing. In fact, all they do is deprive people of a username they might have wanted!

So part of the challenge is to integrate and establish the newcomers. So the goal details are as follows:

• 22 new users for 2022.
• Each new user must have at least 50HP Powered up.
• Each new user must have posted at least 5 posts and 100 comments.
• Comments and Posts are interchangeable by 1:20.

I don't think I expect people to get to 50 HP with only 5 posts and 100 comments when they are fresh out of the gates. However, it is possible for someone to buy the HP and then do nothing else on the platform. So for these people, I expect at least a little bit of posting and socializing to get them into some communities and make new friends while those who cannot afford to buy Hive will need to get a lot more active.

Week 3/52 2022 Progress

So we are on week 3 already and while Claire and I have been active, I still need to get the kids more active. We have 2 laptops in the house and the kids all use mine when they need to go on. So this causes us to play musical chairs and there is not always time for this.

Regardless, we seem to be making some progress!

From this summary I can see that I went up a little more than in the previous Report.

Additionally @clairemobey, @aimeludick and @merenludick all have made great gains. next week it will not look as great for the kids as they all need to make actual posts and go make friends out there. They all started their new school years so they have been busy busy. I will make time for them this weekend and get @matthew-williams to do his Introduction post!

I hope this post serves to show what a family on Hive can accomplish. These are humble beginnings, but watch us grow in 2022!
