Something similar happened on our side where @clairemobey was driving in towards Cape Town and on her approach you just could not see Table Mountain. It was completely obscured as though there was no mountain!

Eerie and magical mate. I love those sights as it always remind me of the power in nature.
Up in Belfast I had to sit in the car's bonnet with a torch to guide the driver due to the dense mist on the road. I could only see about 1 metre ahead.
