Good day everyone! It is I, Zak Ludick from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40,000 lore post!

I thought that I would make a fun and interesting post about 3 different situations of famous Space Marines who got lost in space... or the Warp as it is.

Many Space Marines and other servants of the Emperor become lost in realspace as well in the Warp. That in itself is not strange. It becomes stranger though, when they manage to come back!

This list is in order from mild to spicy stories about famous characters being lost for longer spans of time and in worse situations!

Number 1: Mild Panic - Cato Sicarius

Captain Cato Sicarius was the Captain of the Ultramarines 2nd Company and was charged by the Primarch Roboute Guilliman to take Primaris Marines to Ultramar.

Warp Storms swallowed up his whole fleet. He was gone so long that one of Sicarius' officers was promoted to Captain in his stead.

Fully half that fleet was lost forever in the warp while Cato managed to escape the warp and get back to the Ultramarines Chapter.

By that time, his post was re-filled and the Ultramarines would have re-instated him as Captain of the 2nd but Guilliman had other plans - Creating a new force and making Cato the Captain of the Victrix Guard, a company of heroes.

Number 2: Out of the frying pan, into the hellfire! - Darnath Lysander

Darnath Lysander is an Imperial Fist and Captain of the 1st Company. This is a company filled with Veterans, most of which wear Terminator Armor.

He got lost in the warp and then when he managed to survive and get into realspace he spilled out in front of a Chaos held world commanded by the Iron Warriors - the mortal enemies of his Chapter!

He was captured and stripped of his armor, he was tortured for years. He bided his time and escaped, punching his way to freedom and returning to the Imperial Fists.

He had to be thoroughly checked for Chaos taint but was cleared and reinstated as Captain of the 1st!

Number 3: Eternity of Dread? No! He brings dread to the Daemons! - Kaldor Driago

This is the Supreme Grand Master of the Grey Knights. Grey Knights are a secret Chapter of Space Marines and militant arm of the Ordo Malleus - the Inquisition who hunt Daemons!

So they fight Chaos all the time and each and every member is a pure soul and psyker, able to slay Daemons easier than most.

Kaldor, being their top tier leader would be the best at this of course. But he's taken it to an impossible level.

Grey Knights are always present where there are lost of Daemons and Warp Rifts that are tears between realspace and the immaterium.

Kaldor went through one of these before the rift was closed up and was seal into the warp. He had been fighting Daemons at the time and could not retreat in time.

On his own in the Warp, the servants of Chaos tried to kill him. A Khorne Daemon of some sort (a big one) fought him and after he killed it, he reforged his sword - Titansword.

Nurgle tried to infect him and he burned them with psychic fire.

Slaanesh Daemons tried to corrupt him with their sexy sensual ways and he ripped them apart.

A Tzeetch Daemon tried to bargain with him and offered him a way home... Driago does not bargain with Daemons and scattered the Daemon's ashes to the winds.

Kaldor continued to fight in the warp, going from Daemon world to Daemon world and killed and burned. Chaos is actually quite keen to see him leave... but they can't get rid of him.

What has happened now is that Kaldor has been in the warp so long that he has become a part of it. He returns to the Grey Knights on the battlefield, for they are ever there when the Great Enemy comes out of the Warp and into realspace.

Kaldor then gets pushed out of the warp and takes command of the Grey Knights, fighting the enemy. When they are victorious and the gate/rift closes, the warp sucks him back into the warp and he stay there until he sees the Grey Knights in battle another time... the Grey Knights are sort of used to this by now.

I suspect Malal/Malice has something to do with this... it would make sense.
