In this series, I will review one unit at a time, picking them randomly.

So let me spin the wheel and see what I get:

Death Guard - Biologus Putrifier

We have our first Chaos entry into the Library! The Death Guard are followers/worshippers of Nurgle, the Chaos God of disease.

The Biologus Putrifier is a ad-hoc leader unit that is used attached to a unit of Plague Marines.

His stat-line is the same as any Death Guard marine, save for having 4 Wounds.

For weapons his Ranged profile is where he shines:

Hyper blight Grenades gives you D6 shots (+1 for every 5 models in the unit rounding down). at S5, Ap -1 and 2 Damage a pop with Lethal hits meaning a 6 to hit is an auto-wound!

The Injector Pistol is an added bonus if not a selling point. With only a 3" range, this Pistol weapon can be used while in combat to potentially deal 3 damage to the target... its a pity then that it does not have Lethal Hits which would have made sense!

However, this is not the big reason the Putrifier is played...
We look at the abilities.

• Foul Infusion
  Right, so while leading a unit he GIVES everything Lethal Hits! That pistol is now better. PLUS, a Crit is scored on a 5+ which means far more Lethals!

• Explosive Maladies
  Additionally, the Putrifier can use a Grenade Strat for 0CP once a per game in addition to another unit using a Grenade.

Thus you could possibly do 2x Grenade Strats in one turn:

8" Range, Roll 6 Dice, 4+ to cause Mortal Wounds.

If you had three Putrifiers then you could use 3x free Grenades or possible 3 rounds with 2x Grenades going off!

That's it, this is that the Biologus Putrifier do...
