Warhammer - Black Library - What to read

Hey all. Zak here from Cape Town, South Africa.

I have been covering a lot of the hobby of Warhammer 40k and the lore and SOME tabletop stuff, but another brilliant thing to do with Warhammer 40,000 is to read the stories of awesome stuff that everything is based on.

Black Library is a company owned by Games Workshop that is dedicated to the writing and publication of Warhammer Fantasy, Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar books.

The above picture and the one below is a book my son @merenludick is busy reading: Sin of Damnation by Gav Thorpe.

This one has a "Start here with Black Library" note on it and I must agree, so far so good. I have not yet read it but I checked it out and got sucked into the first two pages almost effortlessly and if I was not busy writing a Hive post about the books, I would have started reading the first chapter or two before I knew what hit me.

Gav Thorpe is a great writer and this story is that of a very classic setting: Blood Angels Space Marine Terminators board a Space Hulk infested with Tyranid Genestealers.

Meren seems to be about halfway through. I actually did not know that he was busy reading this until the other day we were discussing some stories as part of the lore conversations that we have and I mentioned the spin-off game Space Hulk and Sergeant Lorenzo and immediately Meren knew who I was talking about! How cool!

Another book that I bought for the kids is this: Warlord: Fury of the God-Machine by David Annandale. Obviously this is about a Titan... something I have not yet covered in my lore posts... I will have to do that soon...

A series I would really recommend is the Space Wolf Series written by William King and Lee Lightner. It follows the iconic Ragnar Blackmane as a barbarian on Fenris up into his adventures as a Space Wolf.

3 book omnibus plus 3 more books make up this series for a total of 6 books. While there are many other books about Space Wolves, none of the others cover Ragnar's early days like this series.

And then there is this literary masterpiece by Graham McNeill.

The Ultramarines Omnubus is three books of course but please read it as follows:

Nightbringer first, then Warriors of Ultramar, then switch to Storm of Iron and then go back to the Ultramarines Omnibus to read Dead Sky Black Sun.

Trust me... just read it like that.... you'll like it.

That's all from me on this rather short post! Have an great day further!

Cheers!

Wow, I'm very sure the kids love these books, they look interesting on the outside, hehe. I think you should try making the review of this books on the Hive book club community, I'd love to get more details on them 🥰.
