Working nightshift in the CBD of Cape Town

This has been the second week of me working at night. Last week it was three nights and this week will be four nights instead of five day-shift days.

One thing that comes with this, is a bit of exhaustion. I am not managing to sleep as I wish because I am responsible for stock orders.

Secondly, access is a massive problem. In the sense that I cannot go into all the places I usually would be able to. I cannot get stock in the middle of the night so pre-planning is key and then when I do and something goes wrong with the stock I ordered, then I only find out when night shift starts and we cannot do anything about it.

However, this is all necessary. We need to do this work at night or we cannot get access at all.

So I push on...

Cheers!

How did you take this awesome picture, Zak?!

Have a good days sleep with all those night shifts. That’s hard

Hahaha! No that is a stock image of Cape Town. You'll see there is a "Source" reference under the image.

That photo was taken from either Signal Hill or Lion's Head.

I suppose there is fewer other people in your way on the night shift. I remember having to do night shift at our airport. We had to wait for last plane to unload before we could get stuck in. At least nobody was in our way, but we also had to completely packed up and have everything spotlessly clean before everything kicked off again in the morning.
