Crochet Skull hat

Hello family @diyhub it's your favourite crochet artist @zali.bee.

I know it's been a while but believe me, I miss the community so much.
Exam preparation has been overwhelming but guess what I'm back now.
Regardless, I have lots of beautiful pieces to share with you all.

And today, I will be guiding you all on how I made this beautiful, lovely, cute crochet skull cap.

I love this hat so much because it sits so well with sleeping braids. And most importantly the attention and compliment was too much but I can't complain haha.

MATERIALS NEEDED

  • Yarn
  • A pair of scissors
  • Darning needle
  • Crochet hook (3.0mm)
  • Cowries bead

NOTE: there are words you will come across more often in this tutorial which are,
Magic ring, chains, slip stitch, double crochet, clusters

PROCEDURE:
STEP 1: I made a magic ring and placed 15 double crochet with a chain 1 space in between. (1Dc, Ch1, 1Dc, Ch1 total 15Dc).
And I end the row with a slip stitch.

STEP 2: I made a slip stitch into the chain 1 space of the previous row, then I chained 4.
In the same space, I placed 1 double crochet.

STEP 3: in each of the next chain 1 spaces of the previous row, I placed 1Dc, Ch1, and 1Dc, Ch1.
I repeat the pattern across the row and I slip stitch in the 3rd chain of the first chain 3.

STEP 4: To start row 3, I slipped stitch in the chain 1 space of the previous row.
I chained 5, in the same space I placed 1 double crochet.

STEP 5: I skipped the next chain 1 space and in the next space I placed 1Dc, Ch2, 1Dc.

Then I chain 1 and skip the next chain space and in the next space I repeat the pattern (1Dc, Ch2, 1Dc). I repeat the same pattern across the row and slip stitch on the 3rd chain to end row 3.

STEP 6: Row 4, I slipped stitch into the chain 1 space of the previous row and I chained 3 (which stands as our first double crochet). Then I placed 1 double crochet, chain 2 and 2 double crochet all in the same space.

STEP 7: I chained 2, skipped the chain 1 space, and in the chain 2 space, I placed 2Dc, Ch2, 2Dc. The pattern for this row is (Ch2, skip the chain 1 space, and in the chain 2 space, place 2Dc, Ch2, and 2Dc).
I repeat the pattern across the row and I slip stitch on the 3rd chain to end the row.

STEP 8: for row 5. I placed 3 double crochet, chain 2 and 3 double crochet in the cluster I created in the previous row. Then I chained 3 and I skipped the chain 2 space.

In the next cluster I repeat (3Dc, Ch2, 3Dc) then chain 3 and skip the chain 2 space.
I closed the row with a slip stitch.

STEP 8: I repeat 3Dc, Ch2 and 3Dc but in this row until I get the measurements for my size. I only increased the chains in-between the clusters. For example

Row 6: 3Dc, Ch2, 3Dc and Ch4 in-between the clusters.

Row 7: 3Dc, Ch2, 3Dc and Ch5 in-between the clusters.
I repeated the same pattern and stopped at my desired size.

I stopped increasing the circumference of the hat at Row 7 and I started increasing the length until I g

ot my desired length.

I added my beads and weaved in the end.
And tadaaa our beautiful crochet skull hat is ready.

Thank you for stopping by. Kindly share your thoughts in the comment section.
Bye for now.

As a Catholic, first thing I thought of was the bishops skull cap, haha. This is really nice and looks good. Well done
