Upcycling - Making Scrunchies From Fabric

Warm regards to you all. How is your week going so far? I wish you all a blissful Thursday. So I made use of the pieces of fabric from my sewn dresses.
I've always wanted to make scrunchies of different colours for myself for my hair but I barely had the time to do it. One could imagine what it takes to make something that looks this easy, well, time is of the essence but today I squeezed my schedule just a little bit to accommodate this process.
I made this creamy colour scrunchies for myself because I wanted to make use of it for my hair before stepping out.
So sit back and relax, let me show you how this was done, but before that, you might wanna know the things I used to make this scrunchies so I will share them below.

Materials Used

Pieces of fabric
A pair of Scissor
Measuring tape
Sewing machine
Needle/safety pins
Half inch elastic

Work Processes

First of all, I pulled out the pieces of fabric I wanted to use from the bag, spread it and picked the biggest portion of the fabric, measured the length and width to be sure it would be enough for the scrunchies.

Then I measured out 40 inches wide (width) and 4.5 inches long (length) on the fabric and cut it out. I picked out half an inch elastic that was 10 inches long for my scrunchies, though I later trimmed out an inch cause it seemed too long for the elastic tension I needed.

After measuring both the fabric and the elastic here, I took it to the machine to sew the parts and join together

Note that the fabric wasn't long enough so I had to make some joining to get the exact inches long I needed.

And this was after I sew and joined the parts together

After joining all the parts together, I folded the fabric into two equal parts to meet each ends, then I sewed around it leaving out an opening for the turning.
When I was done sewing, I turned the front part of the scrunchies, inserted the half an inch elastic and closed the opening I earlier left.

And this was my lovely scrunchies after I was done with the finishings.
I took snapshots of it to see the result. I was so glad I could make this in some minutes and it served the purpose for which it was made for.
