I Just Passed 150 Hive Earned In Curation Ever Since I Joined. Why Powering Up Is So Important

While checking my stats on the beautiful hivestats.io I saw that today I managed to pass a really sweet milestone. I earned more than 150 Hive in curation rewards only ever since I joined Hive 3 years ago.

Even though this might not seem much, keep in mind that in the first two years on the blockchain my Hive Power was under 500 so the curation rewards I was earning were really low.

Now, at 1950 HP, I am earning around 0.57 HP and even more in curation alone/day which means that in order to earn another 150HP in curation I will only need a bit under 9 months as opposed to more than 3 years.

And this is calculation that doesn't take into account that my Hive Power will keep on growing thus getting me more and more curation rewards.

I think this is a pretty nice representation of how important it is for us to keep on powering up as opposed to selling our liquid HBD or Hive for example. Sure, there are people that are maybe using their earned Hive to pay bills or buy some other crypto, I obviously don't think that is anything wrong with that but if you don't really have a plan for what you earn here, I think powering it all up is one of the simplest and best decisions you can make.

To the moon! 🚀🚀🚀

Absolutely , one of the main usecases for HIVE or any other stakable token on hive ecosystem is staking.

Congrats on the milestone! That is really awesome. When I first started on Hive I didn't pay much attention to my curation rewards. I was leaving a lot of money out on the table. It took me two years to finally get to a point where I am earning decent curation rewards. Not because I didn't have the power, but because of how I was using my votes.
