Catedral de Ciudad Bolívar. // Cathedral of Ciudad Bolivar. Esp-Eng
En cada ciudad de Venezuela, hay muchas iglesias católicas, pero la principal de ellas es la Catedral.
Esta es la Catedral de Ciudad Bolívar, mi ciudad natal, que data de años del sigo pasado, tiene mucha historia que contar, tanto es así, que se encuentra en el Casco Histórico.
Cuando puedo ir al paseo Orinoco donde esta la catedral, subo hasta ella en el lugar antes mencionado y así la haya visto muchas veces siento una gran admiración por la arquitectura de la misma, con esa torre tan alta donde están las campanas, que escucharlas es una agradable melodía.
Su torre posee un altura de 44 metros, la nave central mide 26 metros a un lado de la misma, afuera esta una figura una escultura Santo Tomás.
Cuando fue inaugurada en 1841 por Monseñor Mariano de Talavera y Garcés., se llamaba Catedral de Santo Tomás, muchos le llaman Catedral de Ciudad Bolívar, pero también Catedral Nuestra Señora de la Nieves , en honor a nuestra patrona.
Hace muchos antes de ser culminada la catedral, hubo un hecho histórico que todo habitante de mi ciudad creo que la conoce sino debería, como lo fue el fusilamiento del prócer Manuel Piar el 16 de octubre de 1817, en una de las paredes de la misma que como acto simbólico que no se olvide jamas, hay una simulación del hueco que dejo una de las balas en la pared, este prócer fue acusado de traición a la patria y fue el Libertador Simón Bolívar, quien dio la orden para su fusilamiento.
Desde que yo recuerdo la catedral siempre a sido de esos colores, creo que mejor sale mantenerla así que pintarla de nuevo, amo la historia que hay en cada edificio de mi ciudad como la catedral.

Hola amigo si cada ciudad de Venezuela tienen lugares hermosos y esta catedral es uno de ellos, es algo maravilloso de ver cada vez que voy, lastima que estaba cerrada, la proxima vez espero que este abierta.
