A good day with a good end

Hello there!

Friday is usually quite a busy day for me. Today I spent a few hours trying to send an international parcel. Second and successful try :) When I first brought the box to my post office, they said that some of my items are on the list of goods prohibited for forwarding. I returned home confused. Then I read that list, and then again. And today one more time. And as for me, all my items aren't forbidden, so I went to the post office again having my parcel disassembled so I can pack everything that isn't forbidden right there.

The office was opened but they didn't take packages forward because of an electricity cut off. Damn, I went to the main PO hoping that they have electricity and more experienced stuff. Finally, it all worked out, and I sent all I wanted. Yohoo!!

This reminded me about unfinished post that I prepared for #MarkeyFriday hosted by @dswigle, a wonderful woman who probably know about markets around the world more than any explorer or tourist but still loves to constantly learn new things 😍❤️ I guess she is extremely busy these days going through all market posts as it's Black Friday time, discounts, gofts, holuday mood. We have a first snow today in Ukraine. Christmas is around the corner. 🥰🥳

I spent more than an hour writing the text and processing the photos. I did it in Ecency mobile app, and saved a draft each time after adding a paragraph. And so when it remained to come up with a title and add tags, I once again saved the draft, but when I opened it, it turned out that all my text, formatting and most of the photos had disappeared, only few photos remained, and that was all. I was so annoyed and did not want to go through this again.

But I still have all those photos on my phone, so maybe today is my lucky day and it'll work out as with the parcel. Let's find out!

It was Saturday. A friend of my invited me to his birthday party to beer restaurant. I haven't been to the celebrations since war, so I didn't want to miss it. Besides, Nick also had the opportunity to go with me. So, we need a gift.

There were a "Warm Market" taking place during last weekend. It's actually a marketplace, a beautiful 4-story building in the old city center where local craftsman and small business can sell their goods.

It was 10 am, an early time as for weekend. The metro and streets were almost empty, the weather was nice and sunny, and I was looking forward to see what they have today for me.

This swing was installed here recently. It is a favorite place where young people hang out but I guess they are yet sleeping.

Another popular bar "Drunken cherry" (translation).

A memorial "Angels of Azov" was recently erected on Sofia Square. Here are portraits of those brave men and women who died defending Mariupol. And their stories... When I first was here, my heart sank with pain and I could barely hold back tears. This time I had enough strength to take photos.

Fashion boutiques closed their windows with plywood shields but it looked not attractive so now they are covered with advertisement. Much better!

Workhorses of out rescues are chic, clean and shiny. Before the war, they were less busy, and their work was not so stressful and dangerous. Perhaps sometimes they had to get a kitten from a tree, put out small household fires. Now the lives of many people depend on their professionalism, and unfortunately, they cannot save everyone. Now a psychologist also goes with them to calls. They have a very difficult but heroic job.

I'm finally here. Look who's here, so sweet and cute and dressed up!

Home and decour department. Visitors aren't many, some sellers came just recently too.

The largest is a choice of candles. Well, no wonder, candles are really popular now.

But look at this wonder!

I couldn't pass by this candy counter. Tangerines, bagels, fruit tarts, bagels. I looked in amazement at that luxury. But something was ... wrong. I have a very sensitive nose, and I didn't feel the smell of cookies. I asked what is this? A soap!!! Terrific skill! `

Cloths. Here, I found once cool seller and bought a t-shirt with great print. It was a good choice coz a birthday boy love it! I got also a free cookie 🙂

Crazy colors, how I miss it!

Food department. It was very clever to have a good breakfast because aromas here are dizzying😆 Cheese, meat, sausages, tinctures, honey, cookies and chocolate. HAPPINESS!!

I've bought 3 small bottles of tinctures with different tastes. The craftsman let me try several tastes, so good breakfast again was a good idea. LOL. Tomato with spices was my favorite!

I am all done! Two of the four floors have access to a terrace with a view. It is very nice here. There is a small food area on one terrace. Time for a snack.

"We return faith of humanity in chebureks". Cheburek is always a wonderful idea! Besides, for a little money.

Chebureki is a deep-fried turnover with a filling of ground or minced meat and onions.[2] It is made with a single round piece of dough folded over the filling in a crescent shape.

Chebureki is a national dish of Crimean Tatar cuisine. They are popular as snack and street food.

Sweet taste of Crimea... Soon...😉

Time to go home.

A beer restaurant was fully seated. We had time until 9pm, at this time this district is cut off. But an emergency shutdown occurred earlier. One of the guests had candles in her bag, so we ended the dinner in a romantic and cheerful atmosphere.

During cut offs mobile communication is poor. Sometimes there is no mobile Internet, and sometimes there is no connection at all. So we decided to not rely on luck and didn't call a taxi. We got home by metro and crossed the river just before the air raid! Another luck.

I was so happy to talk to old friends and meet new ones. Great day with a good end. 💛

Do you already have plans for the weekend? Whatever you plan, I wish you a good time, no matter relax or fun.

Kids wouldn't call it skill, they'd call it a cruel joke 🤣

This is just what my daughter said, when I first sent her these puctures, waited for her reaction and then told what is it. 😂

Thank you for reading, and currating! And for the comment!

I get a special thrill, a squeeze of the heart whenever I read something from you. I was impressed by the memorial in Sofia Square, "Angels of Azov". All admiration and respect for those who have the strength to sacrifice to defend their country and way of life, which they obviously lose and are aware of, but they do it for others and to not let evil triumph!

I like the old center and the fact that life seems normal in the city, just looking at your photos, then reading, one feels both the shortcomings and the presence of war... but also the belief in victory (Crimea... Soon).

I really like the way you write, and the way your blogs look. I look forward to the joy of victory and the end of this ordeal.

On Wednesday, I was going to write a post. And then received terrible news - my colleague died. He had joined our military intelligence unit on February 27th. Our office has about 30 people, so we know each other pretty close... He was a very smart and very nice person, and a true patriot. Now he joined our Angels.

But... I believe his sacrifice wasn't in vain. And all we are going through.

Thank you SO much for your sincere words, dear @bluemoon 💙

Words can't express everything, it's easy for me, who, for now, am spared such misfortune. The way you, Ukrainians, behave is unbelievable. I don't think that we Romanians could do the same and I say this thinking about myself because I know myself and my fears and cowardice...
I'm sorry for the loss of your colleague and I'm sorry you have to get used to such losses. I hope your family is well!

It was really nice to read your article. I could almost feel like I was going with you on that ride. Sometimes we don't have enough time to be able to enjoy a day of walking but when we do it's phenomenal.

My favorite was the candles, the candy, the dressed up doggie and those beautiful shiny coats. I am also amazed that there are still those who take up the art of candle carving.

Very nice article, I send you a big hug.
