The right time for shopping

hangers-gc14d2d193_1280.jpg

I guess I'm a moody person. I believe any business needs inspiration. Household chores, cooking, hobbies, or work tasks, everything needs the right spirit. At least in my case.

I hate shopping, basically. If you put the obvious need to buy clothes and shoes on one side of the scales, then laziness, busyness, bad mood, skepticism, reluctance to spend time and money will be on the other. Usually, the balance it is moving towards the second.

I usually have a hard time finding what I'm looking for. I don't like tight stuffy fitting rooms or crowded shops. And the result of shopping directly depends on how much I currently like myself. If I am happy with my appearance, then there is no reason to go shopping, because queens are beautiful in any clothes.😂 And if I'm not happy with myself, then I look ugly even in my best clothes in the world. I know when I was 25, everything was different. Everything looked good on me, but back then there was another difficulty - the money. Life as it is.

The last time I went shopping was in the winter (this year) when I bought a down jacket to replace an old one that had torn. That was a very emotional day. Today's story is not so emotional, but funny.

So. now I need house slippers. The ones I wear are already very old and worn. Every time I see them, I feel almost homeless. That's why I walk at home barefoot. It is convenient in summer. But slippers are still needed, at least one pair.

Once, I got known about big discounts in one shopping center. I said to myself - why not go there specifically and save a lot of money? Besides, it's good for my mental health. So, I went there on a Saturday morning (because I hate crowds). There was only 1 shop in the whole mall, which had home slippers, but they were too expensive.

Suddenly, I remembered that even before covid I wanted a new swimsuit. I have two, they have served me for many years (how many is many? - you probably think) and therefore they both stretched and burned out. Although I don't often swim or sunbathe, more precisely, very rarely now (sometimes 1 time in a whole year), but I still need a swimsuit. Maybe a new swimsuit will encourage me to spend more time in the sun... Actually, a swimsuit is something that can be needed unexpectedly. Somehow I was looking for a swimsuit at the end of December, because my husband and I decided to spend 2 days in a hotel with thermal springs. I still remember the surprised faces of the sellers.

There were only two shops with women's underwear and swimwear in the entire shopping center. Some were closed. One of them had big discounts and a good selection. Also, I bought myself 2 new swimsuits (couldn't choose 1), although I know for sure that I won't wear them this year. Considering the 17th month of the big war, have you appreciated my level of optimism?

A bathing suit is fine, but slippers are still needed.😄

The other day I went to another shopping center. Passing by the shoe stores, I remembered that I have been looking for light sneakers for the summer for 2 years already. The doctor prescribed me to wear shoes with an orthopedic insole. As it turned out, now I can not wear some type of shoes. Thanks to modern fashion, sneakers can be worn with almost any outfit.

It seems that this is the idea of shopping malls - you come for one thing, and buy a bunch of other stuff. That's how I got black sneakers. And the issue with sneakers remained unsolved.

For the third time, that's today, I went to the third shopping mall. It was 11 o'clock on a weekday - a time when there are few cars on the streets and few customers in the shops. My perfect time. I have this opportunity thanks to covid. Most of my colleagues continue to work from home. This is convenient because I don't have to explain to anyone why and where I disappeared during the day for 2 hours. Besides, I can make up for it in the evening. It is really very convenient to have a lumpy schedule.

This shopping mall is one of the largest, located on the outskirts of the city. Inside it is like a labyrinth. There is the largest selection of stores and brands from many countries. I found out that now there are no home shoes in shoe stores, and in general, home slippers are rarely sold. Eventually, I came across a lingerie store with a large selection of home wear. Shorts, tops, T-shirts, shirts, tunics. Here, I suddenly remembered that I need a pajama (recently I had to throw out my favorite one because it was completely worn out). There was also a very large selection of house pants. Pants, not shorts, because it is unpleasant to sit in shorts on some furniture. As for pajamas, I chose a very pleasant to-the-touch elongated shirt. It turned out that they have T-shirts of a style that I really like and which is not often found. Is it possible not to buy this?

You won't believe it. There, I finally found home slippers I like. So, this long story is over.

I was very lucky today. As soon as I got home, the air alarm started. Some small establishments ignore the air alarm and continue to operate. But everything is different in shopping centers. They close completely. Today, Russian bombers were in the air all day, so there was a missile threat all day. So, I managed to do everything and was very happy.

Seems this year green is my new black. Just realized it. I chose a green fabric for the sofa, shades of green for the home clothes, and a swimsuit. I had never worn it before. I remember that it suited my mother very well.

Today I succeeded with the shopping but as a result, I am completely in a non-working mood today. So be it. My current work requires creativity and therefore the right spirit. Well, not today. So what else can I do?

20230726_193306-01.jpeg

As I wrote earlier, my daughter and her hubby legitimize their relationship in October last year, and now they made a decision to have a wedding in church and to celebrate a true wedding with a white dress, black tie, photographer, family and friends. I wouldn't be honest if I said I was excited about this idea. For several reasons.

On the one hand, we all live in a war. On the other hand, their city was only hit by a rocket once, on the first day of a full-scale invasion, as it is in the rear yet they never forget to help AF by donating money or to help the military hospital. Although... I wish they could use the expenses they will spend for the ceremony for a wonderful travel for example. Truth to be said, during wartime foreign travel is prohibited for men of some age, unless you are a corrupt official who knows another corrupt official. The war is an excuse for not celebrating, but after all, each of us has only one life that can be interrupted at any time. So we live it the way we want. Since my daughter and I learned to accept each other as we are, our communication and life have become better.

As a mother, I really want to help them with the organization, but they make all the decisions about choosing one or the other thing. In the end, I found a way to contribute - to buy alcohol. I have more experience and more opportunities. And today I have exactly the right mood. So I chose a few items to sample before buying more.

20230726_195936-01.jpeg

Well, this is almost the end.

I know I am an early bird for the #MarketFriady. And today is a day dedicated to another wonderful challenge. My excuse is that... as I said I'm a moody person. Tomorrow will be a day entirely dedicated to work, as I still love my job, and the next Friday is the day when I gonna pass the inspection for my body.😂 At my age, I believe I won't be happy enough for writing a post. So, I do it today.

Okay, enough excuses. It was a long day, a bit difficult day for our Armed Forces. At least 3 types of missiles were fired at us.

20230726_192236-01.jpeg

Raindrops are falling on my windowsill. The aroma of fresh basil is like perfume.

The air alert is all clear, I'm home and I'm fine, and my family is safe and sound. I appreciate every moment I spend with my hubby as they are so short. He comes in late and leaves home early, but at least now he comes home every night and I can take care of him. Although I can see that he needs rest.

We are often dissatisfied with life and complain. So do I. But summer may be the only time I can look on the bright side of life. I hope not.

Glad you got home ok. I think I have a man's mentality when it comes to shopping. I go into a shop, get what I want and then get the hell out of there! Stay safe. ❤️

Is it normal for people to not be shopping at 11 o'clock? It is nice to see you getting a few things that you like.

This was a lovely walk through your Market Friday experience. I noticed most of the items you got have green floral patterns, you’ve got a good eye.
I loved how warm and soothing the ending was.

You have done it perfectly, everything is good that is done on time, in the same way that if something is finished inside the house and there is no person, then it is not useful to take it later.

Це уривок нагадав про фантастичні романи, які колись сприймались фантастикою...Гарно написано, хоч і кидаються в очі різкі переключення думок з теми на тему.

Hi, how nice that you were finally able to buy your slippers to be at home, it seems to me that you made very smart purchases and the green color is a beautiful color, we think it is a color that conveys hope. Greetings ;-)

Hello, @carisma77 😉
I think hope is what I badly need. And yes, my purchases are mostly planned, although before the war I sometimes made spontaneous purchases as well. It was fun )) Now I'm saving (the discount season just started), so I only buy what I need.

My youngest daughter is like you. She also hates shopping.
But from time to time my wife goes shopping with her.
However, the eldest daughter is a shopaholic :-)
I have different daughters

I voted this right away but knew I would want to read it over (and over again and again) before I put words down. I am not sure why, but, I always do. I smiled at the thought of you going barefoot at home rather than looking like a homeless woman. :) I now buy house shoes two or three at a time because you can wear them and wear them, until one day, they look like you hike through brambles with them.

Every time I think of you, I see your story within a story, surrounded by the war as you try to live the best you can. I do think about you on a daily basis, still, because not much has changed for you except how you have changed your approach on how to live. Nobody should have to live this way, I am sorry that it even happens and for so long, so very long.

I know it is my ignorance, but, I still find it unreal that the malls and stores are open - while at war! And yet, my brain say that living must continue. Forgive my ignorance. One could say, well, you are used to it, but, hell... one never gets used to something like that. You just learn how to navigate it. Sorry for thinking out loud. I do like that you got two bathing suits. I did the same right after they opened the country from Covid... needed something that wasn't stretched from the fabric being almost as old as me... Some things don't get replaced until it is an absolute must or if my children would be ashamed to be seen with me. :)

Natalie wants a real wedding? I understand your thoughts, truly. In the big scheme of things, is it such a big deal to have a white wedding in the church and all the trim? Yes and no. She has not lived in the midst of it, so wanting things to be normal isn't like me saying it to you. If that were you, I would say you were reaching out for a sense of normalcy. My niece has been living with her boyfriend for three years but next year, at the end of the year, she wants to have a full-scale wedding. What? Why? She is living the life now, just getting married and taking the money and going on a lavish honeymoon or taking the money and putting a down payment on a house. I think I am more practical in my old age. :) Or perhaps people stopped getting married years ago and living together instead. Fine. I am no longer looking for young people to agree with my way of thinking - and you are right. We get along so much better for letting them have their own opinions and hopping on for the ride. (I beg them to not ask my honest opinion!) Wine! You get to be in charge of the good stuff! I'll take whatever you are having! We will drink to our health!

I like your black sneakers... You are right! Thanks to fashion, sneakers match everything!

You are such a lovely person, full of passion, fighting to the finish. I adore you and all that you stand for. Blessings my dear friend. Thank you for taking me along with you. It is always such a pleasure to be with you!

#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers' markets, and eventually branched out and evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, and even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact that these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.

Thank you for being a part of #MarketFriday

It's like I read all my thoughts in your reply... ❤️
Everything that happens around me is a complete contradiction and madness. Every night I try to fall asleep before the air raid starts. I've noticed that if I hear the sounds of explosions before I fall asleep, it guarantees a sleepless night and a completely wasted day or two. So I try to deceive the instinct of self-preservation. Isn't that crazy? And otherwise, I can turn into a real insane. And simple everyday activities like shopping help me stay connected to normal normality. ))
And yes! Some things don't get replaced until it is an absolute must. Spot on!

I love your reply! It makes a nice start to my day.
Your words are like hugs. Sending you my hugs and !luv

P. S. Just recall. I read that what we wear at home is directly related to our self-esteem! 😉
