New beginning: High Mana, Strong Lineup, Sweet Rewards!

avatar

Hello players of splinterlands, this is my first post in the community. To be honest, I have never played this kind of games before so this is truly exciting. I have started my first game with splinterlands and I'm willing to share one of my latest victories on the climb through the Bronze III league. As I am a new player, and still learning so pardon my mistakes.

Before starting the match, I received my Daily Streak rewards which was Battle Challenge worth +200 Sparks . And I think it was a good reward for me.

Anyway, this was a high-mana battle and there was no special rules restricting team composition, I was able to choose freely and create a lineup that secured a convincing win.

Battle Setup

So it was 53 Mana Cap with a normal ruleset, so there were no special modifiers. I had the opportunity to use all of the elements, so I guess it gave both players complete freedom when building their teams. In past few matches mana cap wasn't that high but I fortunately found a match which requires 53 mana. This has created opportunities for stronger combinations, I have studied a bit about it so careful planning was essential for such battles.

My Team Strategy

For this match, I decided to take Aurelia as my summoner and focused on taking different type of cards. I specially picked melee and the one with highest health for survivability and sustained damage output.

My lineup consisted of:

  1. Dire Bear (Lv. 1) – Melee Attack
  2. Spellmonger (Lv. 1) – No Attack
  3. Great Bear Druid (Lv. 1) – Melee + Magic attack
  4. New Beluroc Aegis (Lv. 1) – Melee Attack
  5. Wilhelmdale Deputy (Lv. 1) – Range Attack
  6. Dread Tafarian (Lv. 1) – Melee Attack

My opponent, was a fire-based team and their summoner had granted them +1 Melee Attack and most of them were melee.

Battle Progress

In the first round, I was scared that I was going to lose. As it felt too intense because my opponents melee attackers focused their damage on my Dire Bear. But I had my tank who absorbed the attacks effectively.

As the battle progressed, I realize that my defensive structure was difficult to break and I could already tell who was going to win. By Round 6, several of the opponent’s cards had already been eliminated. On the other hand, mine remained healthy and continued applying constant pressure.

Round 7 brought the final decisive attacks. With the enemy formation weakened and unable to recover, in the end I was able to get a well-earned victory.

Rewards and Progress

The win pushed my rating to 100 in Bronze III, earning +40 rating points.

I got a reward chest which delivered a Nim Guard Captain card, this made the victory feel more satisfying.

A new human-only cosmetic hat unlocked after completing the battles.

Anyway, this was a fantastic match. I am going to play this game continuously. Today, I got another step forward in my ranked climb. High-mana battles will remain my favorites because they allow powerful strategies and team combinations to shine.
