The Future of a Happy Utopia

We should always ask questions because we should consider about everything around us. Like would we ever progressed if none of us had the desire for more? Would there be any technology? Of course technology would stop growing if everyone was already happy. But the more I imagined that world, the more I changed my mind.

So, if I imagine that a small town where nobody is in a rush. And no one is competing each other trying to become richer than anyone else. So, no fighting for money, power or fame. Everyone is equal and they have enough food or a safe home. Then it does sound like nothing new would ever happen because nobody needs to fix big problems. If there is no problem then there is no solution for soemthing that doesn't exist.

Then I imagined a girl like me living there. Like she wouldn't try to invent something because she wants to go higher than someone else. Also, not gonna do it for money either. One afternoon, while watching birds fly across the sky, she wonders, "How do they know where to go?" That one little question leads her to build a tiny flying machine just for fun. Then she will tell her friends and they will also become interested and all of them will work together to help and try to make it better. In a way, they are creating things together because they are enjoying it and it's out of curiosity also for fun not because they have to.

See? We don't only invent things just because we are unhappy. So, people can also create it if they are curious and in search of knowledge. But it's true that technology would grow much slower in a perfect world. The inventions we see now were created because people wanted to solve serious problems. If no one had serious illness then we wouldn't have advance technologies to cure it. We can talk to anyone at anytime from any country because people wanted to make it easier for themselves to stay connected with their loved ones and communicate with different people from different cultures. People felt the need to do difficult works in short time. Without challenges, there would be less pressure to invent new things.

In my opinion, conflict is not the only reason people improve the world. Humans naturally ask questions because they are always curious. Our nature is to explore and create, we love to discover new things that we have never seen before. Even if life were already perfect, there would still be stars to study, oceans to explore and ideas waiting to be tested.

We live in 2026 and the year is almost over, we are still inventing new things and I do not think we would have reached today's level of technology as fast as we did, if we didn't have challenges. A peaceful world would probably choose slow and thoughtful progress instead of rushing to invent. But I think it would a good thing and not necessarily bad. Sometimes invention happens because someone simply looks at the sky, asks "Why?" and refuses to stop wondering. Our curiosity helped us come this so far so, I love the way it is now.

Yeah I agree that curiosity to know the things are reason to invent more things. I like your example of birds flying 😄

People can actually create new things or inventions out of fun and joy. It's possible. However, the case is different in our world. Many developments and advancements came because of one challenge or the other. Even businesses come from the idea and need to solve a problem. Well, it's just good to see us having this advancements and developments that we have and we keep seeing.
