The forest is a haven for plant and animal life, including forest orchids and ferns, which are epiphytic plants (hitting) in the trees. Lowland swamp forest is an ideal place for these plants so that there is more variety than in upland forest. Because of their beauty and rarity, these forest orchids and ferns have a fairly high selling price. But over time, its existence is increasingly rare because the lowland forest has been converted into plantations and settlements, as well as the rampant taking of orchids from their natural habitat.
