Cozy Season - LOH #292

If I had to choose my favorite season, it would be the rainy season without an iota of doubt. In fact, I dare say it is probably everyone's favorite season where I'm from. There is just something like a breath of relief when the raining season comes and it makes life feel a little more comfortable and enjoyable in this shit show of a world we live in, it might seem minor but we'll take our small wins where we can.

After months of dealing with intense sunshine and unbearable heat, coupled with the epileptic power supply, the arrival of the rain feels like a reward. The weather becomes cooler, the air feels fresher, and everything around you seems more alive. The trees are greener, and even the sky has a beauty of its own when dark clouds gather before a downpour. There is a certain peace that comes with hearing raindrops hit rooftops and watching the rain fall outside your window, especially if you are with your significant other!!. Sleeping becomes easier because the nights are cooler, and you no longer have to battle with excessive heat just to get comfortable. A good movie, a cup of tea or coffee and the sound of rain outside can create the perfect atmosphere. Even as I am typing this, it is drizzling outside and its all cozy and enjoyable.

The season also brings relief from the dust and dryness that often come with the dry season. The environment feels cleaner, and people generally seem to be in better spirits when they are not constantly sweating under the scorching sun. Even outdoor activities become more pleasant when the weather is cool rather than unbearably hot. Of course, the rainy season is not perfect. One major downside is flooding, which unfortunately affects many communities in my country. Heavy rainfall can overwhelm drainage systems and even damage homes, can also make movement challenging at times.

Despite some of these challenges, I would still choose the rainy season every single time. I will always take cold weather over hot weather. The dry season, on the other hand, can feel like literal hell. The heat can be exhausting, especially in the afternoon when the sun is at its strongest. You step outside for a few minutes and immediately start looking for shade. Sometimes it feels as though the weather is testing your endurance.
