#296 Do things today | Hacer las cosas hoy

¿Qué es algo que has desaprendido en la primera mitad del año que mejoró tu vida? Podría ser un hábito, una forma de pensar o una dirección a la que se dirigía.

Este año me propuse conseguir más que el anterior. No me establecí metas exageradas, pero tampoco he sido conformista.

Para ello he tenido que aprender de alguien que nunca está quieta y esa persona es mi hermana.

También para este año nos propusimos tener más ventas en nuestra tienda online y ser cada vez más independientes. Así que, al ser una meta compartida, una ayuda a la otra.

Tal como decía la abuela María: Una mano lava la otra y las dos lavan la cara.

Así que algo que empezó a suceder y que no había pasado era mi hermana diciéndome: Vamos.

Si le comento la noche anterior que vamos a ir a comprar materiales, es la primera en levantarse. Agarra, va a mi cama y me levanta: Dijiste que íbamos a comprar materiales.

Me levanto y vamos.

Antes, por lo general, simplemente no teníamos tanta determinación para hacer las cosas. Pero algo ha ido cambiando y es que nos dimos cuenta de que podemos lograr cualquier cosa que nos propongamos. Además de ello, una apoya a la otra y viceversa, lo que ayuda a hacer las cosas de una manera más agradable.

No estoy sola contra el mundo con mis metas. Ella tampoco está sola contra el mundo con sus metas.

Ese apoyo ha sido fundamental para mí, también esa perseverancia de su parte.

Por lo que he adquirido poco a poco ese hábito de decir: Vamos.

De esta manera siento que hemos logrado más que en años anteriores. Así que agradezco tenerla, agradezco todo lo que me ha enseñado.

Y hoy te lo comparto a ti también. Porque todo el conocimiento que se comparte con otra ayuda a que pueda seguir vivo, pasándolo de generación en generación.

What is something you unlearned in the first half of the year that improved your life? It could be a habit, a way of thinking, or a direction you were heading in.

This year I set out to achieve more than last year. I didn't set unrealistic goals, but I haven't been complacent either.

To do this, I've had to learn from someone who's always on the go, and that person is my sister.

We also set goals for this year to increase sales in our online store and become more independent. So, since it's a shared goal, we help each other.

As Grandma Maria used to say: One hand washes the other, and both wash the face.

So, something that started happening that hadn't happened before was my sister saying to me: Let's go.

If I mention the night before that we're going to buy supplies, she's the first one up. She grabs my things, goes to my bed, and wakes me up: You said we were going to buy supplies.

I get up, and we go.

Before, we generally just didn't have that much determination to get things done. But something has changed, and that is that we realized we can achieve anything we set our minds to. Besides that, we support each other, and vice versa, which helps make things much more enjoyable.

I'm not alone against the world with my goals. She's not alone against the world with hers either.

That support has been fundamental for me, as has her perseverance.

So I've gradually acquired the habit of saying, "Let's go."

In this way, I feel we've accomplished more than in previous years. So I'm grateful to have her, grateful for everything she's taught me.

And today I'm sharing it with you too. Because all the knowledge shared with others helps it to live on, passing it down from generation to generation.
