Christmas Spice , My Advent Drawing Challenge 2020 Entry
Hello Creative Community and Hive friends,
This is my interpretation of the prompt for Advent Drawing Challenge 2020 by @london65. The prompt for December 12 is Christmas Spice. This countdown going to Christmas day is making me more excited each day and much so if I will be getting a whiff of Christmas spice. What is that exactly in the traditional Philippine setting? For me the smell of Christmas is the sweet and nutty flavors of our kakanin or traditional delicacies like a bibingka or kalamay. These are rice cakes in general which are always present in most pinoy homes especially during the Christmas season. There are a lot more of them but these are my favorite. On my drawing though, I put some spices that I see often like a star anise and an atsuete. The star of this composition is the sticky rice in the middle although not a spice. I just felt it would not be complete without it. To fill the empty spaces I added some spice jars. Hope you like it.
