Hoy quiero hablarles sobre una serie fotográfica que realicé para el Takeover de Talbot, una escuela de fotografía, ubicada en el centro de la ciudad de Mérida – Venezuela. Encargada de realizar talleres, lecturas, seminarios y conversatorios sobre imágenes. Este Takeover surgió durante el confinamiento que estamos viviendo a causa de la actual pandemia. Dicho proyecto consiste en que, una persona, seleccionada por el director de la escuela deberá publicar su trabajo fotográfico durante una semana, permitiéndole así, demostrar su desempeño en esta área.

Today I want to tell you about a photographic series I made for Talbot's Takeover, a photography school, located in the center of the city of Merida - Venezuela. In charge of conducting workshops, lectures, seminars and discussions about images. This Takeover arose during the confinement that we are living because of the current pandemic. This project consists of one person, selected by the director of the school, to publish their photographic work for a week, allowing them to demonstrate their performance in this area.

Cuando tuve la oportunidad, me emocioné y de inmediato me pregunté sobre qué podría hacerlas. Entonces, para esos momentos en los que comencé a imaginar y buscar concebir un concepto fue importante plantearme varias preguntas como: ¿interior o exterior? ¿Blanco y negro o color? ¿Cálido o frío? ¿Qué intención tengo? ¿Qué sentimientos quiero transmitir? También estaba la pregunta de ¿Qué cámara usaría para tomar la foto? Ya que no poseo esa herramienta fundamental, solo hago uso de la cámara del celular y quería que se viera lo mejor posible pero por ese lado, pude conseguirla.

When I had the opportunity, I was excited and immediately wondered what I could make them about. So, for those moments when I started to imagine and seek to conceive a concept it was important to ask myself several questions such as: Indoor or outdoor? Black and white or color? Warm or cold? What is my intention? What feelings do I want to convey? There was also the question of what camera would I use to take the picture? Since I don't own that fundamental tool, I only make use of my cell phone camera and I wanted it to look as good as possible but on that side, I was able to get it.

Durante un tiempo usaba mucho las fotos en blanco y negro pero después me pareció muy interesante el uso del color, no solo en edición si no en los elementos que pueden habitar el lugar donde se toma la foto. Así que pensé en los posibles escenarios; decidí que sería dentro de una casa y que todas las fotos tuviesen mucho color.

For a while I used a lot of black and white photos but then I found very interesting the use of color, not only in editing but also in the elements that can inhabit the place where the photo is taken. So I thought about the possible scenarios; I decided that it would be inside a house and that all the photos would have a lot of color.

Marrón:

Cálido, Acogedor, Natural, Robusto, pereza, necedad... Su combinación con el negro lo hace demasiado sombrío, forman parte de los acordes cromáticos de lo estrecho y lo pesado.

Brown:

Warm, Cozy, Natural, Robust, laziness, foolishness.... Its combination with black makes it too dark, they are part of the chromatic chords of the narrow and heavy.

Morado:

Es un color secundario. Se asocia con la sensualidad, poder,sabiduría, creatividad y la magia.

Purple:

It is a secondary color. It is associated with sensuality, power, wisdom, creativity and magic.

Azul:

Forma parte de los colores psicológicos primarios y representa estabilidad .El azul marino es asociado a la profundidad.

Blue:

Part of the primary psychological colors and represents stability .Navy blue is associated with depth.

Verde:

Color secundario. Se asocia con la naturaleza, vida y fertilidad.

Green:

Secondary color. It is associated with nature, life and fertility.

Naranja:

Color secundario. Se asocia con lo exótico, diversión y entusiasmo.

Orange:

Secondary color. It is associated with exoticism, fun and enthusiasm.

Rojo:

Color primario. Se asocia con el calor, la pasión y la energía.

Red:

Primary color. It is associated with warmth, passion and energy.

Rosado:

Representa la dulzura, delicadeza, amistad y el amor puro.

Pink:

Represents sweetness, delicacy, friendship and pure love.

En un sentido general, me encargué de ajustar la luminosidad y la temperatura dependiendo de cada color pero con el simple hecho de jugar y agregar cada elemento de color, le daba vida a la imagen.

Desde pequeña junto con mi hermana @desraizada buscábamos combinar colores y estar pendiente de cada detalle. En esta ocasión quise usar un mismo color en diferentes tonalidades y ver, analizar que impacto creaba dentro de una foto.

Aquí culmina esta serie fotográfica, espero haya sido de su agrado. Para mí, fue una grata experiencia, creada con mucho amor. Estoy muy agradecida con Talbot Escuela, por su apoyo y oportunidad de mostrar mi trabajo.

Quiero agradecer a @aliento por su gran apoyo en mi primer post que publiqué despues de mucho tiempo. Saber que existen personas que creen en nuestro desempeño como creadores es magnifico, hacen en parte que el sentido de nuestra existencia no sean en vano.

Invito a unirse a aquellas personas que me leen y que aún no hacen parte de esta comunidad. Como colmena, poco a poco, se pueden lograr cosas maravillosas.

In a general sense, I was in charge of adjusting the brightness and temperature depending on each color, but by simply playing and adding each color element, I gave life to the image.

Since I was a little girl together with my sister @desraizada we used to combine colors and be aware of every detail. This time I wanted to use the same color in different shades and see what impact it created within a photo.

This is the end of this photographic series, I hope you liked it. For me, it was a great experience, created with a lot of love. I am very grateful to Talbot Escuela, for their support and opportunity to show my work.
