Amazing Nature - Important Announcement - New Voting & Winner Election System !
Hello Nature Lovers !
Today I want to present to you the new voting & winner selection system that will be implemented for the Amazing Nature Contest in the future ^^.. I will still present all participants in the entries section of the announcement posts on Sundays (depending on my time schedule this may shift some time ^^) and the new title picture of the contest will be still created from the entry of the contest winner.
How are the Winners chosen now?
I do not choose the winners personally any longer , also I did it in the beginning, which was a lot of fun. From now on the voting will be done by the community instead. For this purpose the Steem Terminal was so kind to create a special contest room in their Discord. Here I will post the announcement post together with all your entries (only I am able to post there right now). Every member of the Terminal will be able to assign "voting emojies" under the entries and in the end those three with the most of them are the lucky winners. This I hope should lead to a more objective consideration than just involving myself as a judge. Also, all of you will be able to actively participate in this process if you want to ^^
.. I usually use the Sunday to prepare the announcement post so that Saturday and Sunday will be no entry days. To stay fair to "last minute" posters, I will post all entries on a Friday evening and create an own voting window for one day, announcing it in the Terminal .. Let's see how it works out.. I am so exited ^^

Hi there everyone !
I really hope that you enjoy this new way of inter community interaction and that it will work out gladly for everyone ^^ .. As there are only two entries this week, from @wongbraling and @bucipuci, I will try this concept out tomorrow for the first time on the Terminal :) .. Let's see if it works as planned, hehe ..

It is not easy to judge each week and you have done it very well so far.
I don't use discord often, but just joined the Terminal and I will gladly take part in voting.
It for sure was really hard some weeks to decide the top three.. Thank you for your kind words regarding my judgment so far and for being here from the very beginning ^^ .. Lets see how the community will judge the participants :)
That is a good idea. I know for sure it works well. It has been voted on discord #googlyeyes for two years now. The organizer (@fraenk) will only vote if there is a tie for the competition pictures.

Thank you ^^ .. I am glad that you like the scheme already :) .. I am actually not worried about the entries, they are always amazing!! .. I am just a little bit afraid that the hidden jewels within the entries will be missed that state the "personal amazing" so nicely .. It is a bit like letting your children going out in the free world with this little feeling of being afraid to let them go, hehe ^^
I don't know exactly how you will organize it. There is a special # on the PlanetGoogly discord where the organizer puts links to posts and asks to vote

and using Steem terminal discord, will make the contest more visible!
I also hope that this will draw far more attention to the actual participants each week .. Sometimes there post were really underrated also they were producing excellent content.. maybe I should state more clearly that the 'personal amazing nature' factor should be thought as an important one .. Also the Terminal community could grow a little bit and bond with the participants.. Let's see how this will work out.. But I think that I will miss the judging a bit, hehe ^^ ..

I really hope so too .. I already saw many great nature lovers out there.. If all of the get connected with each other one day, then I will be satisfied, hehe ^^ .. This may be the perfect way to get there :)

Hehe, .. I am already so exited about how this will turn out and if this scheme will work out properly .. Maybe I should worry a bit less about it.. the Steem Terminal community will do an amazing job, as always ! ^^
Excellent idea @adalger. If you remain the only judge, someone can treat as it as a bias. There are no indicator for choosing best one as well. So it was depending on your choice only. So in discord there will be lots of opportunity of getting vote from different mind people.
And here, we can grow a community as well.
But problem is, some of us don't use discord frequently. So visiting there will be obe problem, i think.
Secondly, Due to time saving, someone will not reach to previous posts, will look the latest posts and thus cast vote to nearest posts. It will be another subconscious bias.
My suggestion is, either make it in steem comment section voting or in discord give 3 specific days for posting/ participating and 1-2 days specific for voting.

First of all thank you for this great comment ^^ I am glad that nearly everyone so far likes that idea :)
Regarding you concerns about the discord, I like to say it this way. Before this here happened participants posted entries and in the end they got a placing by me.. In the future they will get it by the Terminal.. It is not even necessary to join us there for voting if you do not want to.. So for participants not using discord this will feel the same way as before. At least It should be like this. The Terminal is kind of optional ^^ (but a lovely place and enrichment for those who really want to use this opportunity).. And your entries will reach out to far more people, which you all should benefit of in the end.. Theoretically :)
Now to the time schedule, hehe. You are totally right about that problem and I found this solution to it:
Sunday=publication,
Monday-Friday=entry window,
Friday-Saturday=voting window
Saturday-Sunday=preparation of new publication
All post will be published the same moment on Friday evening and I really hope that they judge you super fair. But let me say to you that the Terminal grew, at least those I know, will be proper judges who know what to look for in the posts ^^

It was kind of a "hard" one to leave it to the community at first, but the first round is through now since a few minutes and the results are great :).. The voting went smoothly and it seems like this concept worked out great!.. From now on I would like to keep it that way.. Also this way it is very exiting to me too to wait impatiently for your results, hehe ^^
