Friday is squirrel day!

A Happy Friday to all and today I will show you some more about our squirrel family here.

The youngsters can climb around at some amazing heights in the trees in search of nuts to eat and they run around all over here. The little one at the window is thus far the only one that comes to our study window, but there is another little critter that I want to show you today.
Let's have a look.

Talking about heights, this is the one that lives in the high Palm Tree.

Comfortable there in the tree that is high above our house.

Here he was popping down to get a nut.

Look at how cute he was standing here.

Ah! And now to eat his nut upside down on the Palm tree trunk.

Here's a surprise! This little guy lost the tip of his tail, most probably in a fight with another squirrel.

Here you can see the the tip of his tail is gone.

We have seen many fights between the young squirrel males, as they are very competitive. In order to avoid the fighting, we establish the directions that each of them habitually use and then we put the peanuts in their paths. But of course they still steal each other's nuts and that's where the fights erupt.
Such is a squirrel's life!

And That's All Friends.

Note: All photos are my own and taken with a Canon Poweshot SX60HS Bridge camera.

We hope that you have enjoyed the story and the pictures.

Thank goodness your little squirrels are safe, I was so sad to hear about all the animals that were burnt in the horrific fires, just so awful!
Stay safe and have a wonderful Friday my friend, blessings to you and your lovely Marian!

Natural walnut tree producer squirrel ... Squirrels bury some walnuts they find to eat in the ground for future food. Then he forgets his place. And walnut trees proliferate from the walnuts that he has forgotten about. 😀
You took great photos. Health to your hands.

What a sweet selection of photos of this interactive little guy! Despite the chunk of missing tail he looks happy and in good health. We don't have squirrels in our neck of the (SA) woods but I remember all the squirrels in my backyard when I lived in the US. Thanks for sharing @papilloncharity

Thank you kindly and yes we have a wole family living here. Naughty little buggers atv times, but we love them. We found their grandmother "Squirry" here when we moved in and she used to run all over my wife, searching for nuts in her pockets.
Sadly Squirry is no more, but her children and their children continue to live here.

I read your introduction post and welcome back.

Blessings.
