Apple Update - Mysterious Hole

avatar

It's changing color! I'm surprised it's still on my tree. I think I will check it tomorrow to see if it easily pulls off.

I would guess this is a groundhog hole?

#disclaimer - Sorry if you are offended because you think my content is not good enough or too short or images or videos are not good enough or whatever you get offended by. Personally I think short content with a point to it is often better than long wordy "feel good" content.

You find your own way to create content and post. Let the haters hate and you just be you.

Any idea what type of apple that is? Do you only have the one? If so, that is a sweet little story!

Thank you. I think the disclaimer helps me get targeted less by the hive police force.

I'm not good at remembering what I planted. :( I'm thinking it was a Granny Smith or Mcintosh seed but it could have been from a Wealthy Apple or from a wild tree so it will be a unique variety since it is not a clone like all the apples sold in stores.

I also have other apple trees going. I think they will be different from this one.

Well if that is a Mac, it looks to be ready! Just picked a whole arseload of those with the kids and just posted about it today for my Wednesday Walk!

Pretty damn yummy and I bet even more so when they are smaller like that. Well met!

I checked it today and it didn't pull off the tree easy so I left it. I think I will be able to harvest it after the first frost so it should taste better then.

Success at last...lol, you'd better get to picking and eating it before it falls to the ground and that ground hog take it underground for a afternoon snack.

I did gently tug on it today and it was able to stay on the tree so I think I will try and wait until the first frost.

We are on the second frost here tonight. I've been so busy I haven't watched the news lately and didn't even know. Luckily I noticed the frost on the ground when I took my son to work this morning and got most my house plants in and they survived. The others were large, one takes a dolly to get back into the house...so I needed help with that one but it's still going strong today, no limp dying leaves...I had to cover it tonight until I can get my son to help me with it tomorrow hopefully. The other one I managed to drag across the porch and get it in tonight along with one other. I just hate this time of year, it's the finally signal of all that beauty out there that's going to die.

Only two plants. Maybe I will do a post tomorrow about it.

I am surprised you got two. My grandson and I planted some last summer and they never got more than a couple feet high and we did more than just bury them under some grass.

Yeah you probably have like 4 more years to go. I think watering them might speed up the process though.

Yeah I admit that may have contributed considering when you give a kid a hose they tend to lose focus on what they are suppose to be watering and would rather make mud or puddles.

lol Maybe next year you should do some of the watering. ;)

I think you guys did too, if I remember right it was the whole lower part of Michigan for frost and the upper half for a freeze warning.
