Oct. 31, 21: Routine, Orca! 💪, Grocery Shopping, Hiking, and Games

Oh, man! Up wicked early this morning, just after four, and having gotten to bed relatively late last night, I ended up two full hours short on sleep today. 😢 I didn’t drag terribly bad, but I have a feeling that’s going to catch up to me.

Not a lot going on during the morning routine. Cryptos still more or less hovering in the same zone…MATIC has been continuing to pull back, but still holding close to two dollars. HIVE kicked up slightly as well, but eighty something cents doesn’t seem like much when we were at a dollar fifty a week or so ago.

I was please to get a cheevo notification. I thought it was 55k HP, but it seems I’ve finally become an Orca! 👍🤩🥳

Now, to be honest, I’m not quite sure what my goal for Hive is…been so long that the goal was Orca and Whale just seems out of the question, so seems like the next ten years of middle management? I guess just keep on keeping on without any goal? I mean, I’d really like to be big enough to go behind the asshole whales and negate all their ideological downvotes, but that’s not really an achievable goal for me at this point…I suppose I could, but I wouldn’t put all my eggs in one basket.

I do have some liquid HIVE over on Hive-engine that I haven’t decided what to do with, so planning on withdrawing and powering up for Power Up Day tomorrow. 💪

As we have for the past couple weeks (since the weather started to turn), we headed to town and did the grocery shopping early. I got my usual stuff done and scheduled my post and we headed in. Needed to get gas, so quick stopped and filled up, which will save me a little trouble tomorrow when I head in for work.

It had been since the Spring since we’d been out to the woods proper, but with the colder temperatures the mosquitoes aren’t quite as bad now. The ticks, on the other hand…got five off Lady, three off Dude, and Wenche found one on her later! 😱 They’re only but little, but still, fricking A!

Definitely Fall weather out, so I was bundled up in a jacket and hat and scarf, but otherwise it was quite nice, and refreshing to be out for a real hike in the woods!

Although it is still very sad and disappointing to me that there is no #AutomaticWin any more, it is somewhat nicer not to have that pressure to go out early…at was at least warmer and sunnier than it would have been otherwise.

I will admit that the colors are beautiful…just can’t see past what they portend.

I think they enjoyed the chance to run around and sniff, Dude even did a couple runs into the woods after long-gone chipmunks 🐿. He was acting strange, though, like he just wanted to turn around and go home. 🤷

Didn’t see too much wildlife today, but there’s still some shrooms here and there:

Once we got back and took Lady home most of the day was done. Pretty much just chilled out and watched some movies on TV. I suppose doing the shopping did accomplish a goal, but otherwise that makes three days in a row of pretty low productivity. 😡. Need to crank it up a notch here…really, should try and work on the website, been forever now!

Today was Halloween and there were a TON of kids out trick-or-treating. We’re old fuddy-duddies, though, and we hid out with the lights turned off. I’ve never participated in giving candy away since I’ve owned the house…I’m “that one” one of the sucky houses I remember from my childhood. Making myself feel a little guilty, actually; might do it next year.

Wenche made us steaks and tater tots for dinner and I played my Splinterlands quest. We put on another movie, but I laid down and only made it maybe fifteen minutes in before my eyes started to roll and I was out.

At least no crime or crises in dShitty today. Still only got fourteen SIM, but that’s more than what it said I should get, so yay I guess?

Not sure how many days I’m going to rail on about how much CryptoBrewmaster sucks a fat dick before I abandon this section of my post. I can answer: at least once more day, today, for certain. Considering paying the thousand ASH just to be able to try and dump everything out and be done with it…from the evidence of every other aspect of the “game,” I’m assuming that’s likely to be a losing proposition as well, though.

A couple lessons and missions, nothing new today on Rising Star. I advanced another level and have over thirty thousand Starbits saved up, but still not feeling like I’m making any progress or that it’s really worth the time at all.

Despite my trepidation, I played quite a bit of Splinterlands today. It’s usually pretty rough right after the reset and I was not at all looking forward to losing into Silver and having my monsters crippled again.

Of course it was inevitable that I would lose into Silver, but I didn’t have to spend days in it like last time (at least not so far), and fought my way back to Gold before finishing my quest for today.

I had the Sneak quest left from yesterday, and got it done without missing a day, which was nice. Rewards weren’t all that great, but better than nothing:
