Follow the Leader... Over the Cliff - Corona Virus
Mass panic is like a game of follow the leader over the edge of a cliff. The result will be unpleasant.
For the most part, I'm ignoring the corona virus panic. From my research and talking to people who have degrees in medicine,this thing is inflated beyond the attention it is due.
Social media and the corporate media have had a hand in the mess... as well as people's own imagination.
Does anybody remember, Mad Cow Disease, Y2K, SARS Virus, Bird Flu, Swine Flu, 2012 end of the Mayan Calendar, Ebola epidemic? These were all going to be the end of the world.

I'm just not panicking because I can't really do anything other than what we usually do whenever we get sick anyway. On the bright side it's at least making people think again about this "soldiering on" and "don't let the team down" and "it's not that bad yet" crap which is probably the main ways the other coronavirii get around.
I hope it makes a good number of people rethink many things. And that's just it, think, rather than panic.

Talking about Unis and schools closing, no events over 100 people allowed, no outdoor events over 500 bla bla bla - they don't know what to do, but not to be seen as useless and incompetent (as they are) this is the reaction. And the papers are going with it.
As this is playing out in China, there are already a great number of cases that are recovered, and new infections are slowing down.
