Selfie

Esta es mi hija de 11 años, unas horas antes de una presentación de danzas. Su prima la había maquillado, tal como su instructora lo había solicitado.

This is my 11-year-old daughter, a few hours before a dance performance. Her cousin had made her up just as her instructor had requested.

Cuando recibí por WhatsApp la fotografía del maquillaje que mi pequeña debía llevar, sentí alivio de saber que contaba con mi sobrina, ya que no soy muy buena en esas artes. Ella con mucho cariño aceptó la tarea y en aproximadamente una hora, ya mi hija estaba lista.

When I received from WhatsApp the photograph of the makeup that my little girl was supposed to wear, I was relieved to know that I had my niece, since I am not very good at those arts. She lovingly accepted the task and in about an hour my daughter was ready.

Pero cuando mi sobrina le pidió tomarle unas fotografías de su maquillaje para publicarlas en su Instagram, éstas lucían así:

But when my niece asked her to take some pictures of her make-up for publication on his Instagram, they looked like this:

Cuando vi las tomas, le comenté a mi hija que esperaba un poco más de entusiasmo de su parte, en agradecimiento al trabajo de su prima, porque realmente las fotos no mostraban a una clienta satisfecha.

When I saw the shots, I told my daughter that I expected a little more enthusiasm from her, in appreciation of her cousin's work, because the photos really didn't show a satisfied client.

Entonces fue cuando le di el teléfono y le dije tómate unas selfies y entonces el resultado fue notablemente diferente.

That's when I gave him the phone and told him to take some selfies and then the result was noticeably different.

Selfie

Es como si la palabra selfie diera alguna especie de súper poder para salir bella en las fotos. Claro, también es cierto que la cámara delantera de mi teléfono es mejor que la trasera, pero aún así fíjense en el cambio de actitud.

It's like the word selfie gives some kind of super power to make you look beautiful in the pictures. Sure, it's also true that the front camera on my phone is better than the back, but still notice the change in attitude.

Las fotografías que muestro en esta publicación son del 02 de Noviembre de 2019, capturadas en San José de Guanipa, Edo Anzoátegui- Venezuela, capturadas con mi smartphone Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro. La fotos fueron tomadas con el lente de la cámara trasera de 12 MP y el lente de las selfies tienen 20 MP. Siempre, cuando publico, tomo un capture a la pantalla, para hacer la imagen menos pesada a la hora de subirla a la red (la diferencia es considerable).

The pictures I show in this publication are from November 02, 2019, taken in San José de Guanipa, Edo Anzoátegui- Venezuela, captured with my Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro smartphone. The photos were taken with the 12 MP rear camera lens and the selfies lens has 20 MP. Always, when I publish, I take a screenshot, to make the image less heavy when uploading it to the network (the difference is considerable).

Debo mencionar que carezco de conocimiento alguno del arte de las fotografías. Sólo capturo momentos que quiero guardar.

I think it is necessary to mention that I have no knowledge whatsoever of the art of photography. I just capture moments that I want to keep.
