Gold and Tea (fable)

Gold and Tea

In a distant kingdom, in unknown times,
There were Gold and Tea, as if in a fairy tale.
Gold glittered and beckoned the eyes,
Tea was fragrant, caressing soul with smells.

Gold was proud of its value,
People were looking for it and dreamed of happiness,
It served as a sign of respect and wealth,
But sometimes infected people with greed.

Tea was simple and accessible to anyone,
It warmed the souls and gave joy to every person,
Tea ceremonies brought families together,
Conversations and laughter sounded during the evening tea.

Once Gold and Tea met in the garden,
They discussed their value and role in life.
Gold shone proudly and spoke of its power,
Chai smiled calmly and spoke of his soul.

They argued which of them is more important and better,
Which of them brings people more happiness.
But at that time a fierce war began,
And all idle talk came to an end.

Cannons were made of Gold,
They were immediately sent to the front.
Tea went to war in the same convoy,
The generals decided to use it as gunpowder.

Do I need to explain why the attack failed?
The golden cannons fired tea, and it was of no use,
Only roar, smoke and stench, nothing else.
And the enemy, without any Gold and Tea, burst to position.

Well, all generals were hung on lampposts,
But the moral of this fable is not very simple,
I have to concentrate well to formulate it.
So see you tomorrow at this place.

The original text was written by me in Russian. I haven't studied English systematically so the translation may not be ideal. The main work was done by Google Translate, I just corrected obvious absurdities, where I noticed them and where I did not confuse them with brilliant insights.
