[1/2] Keeping my word - $ 1000 charity

Last week I promised in one of my posts that I would donate a thousand dollars 💵 to a charity.

I chose a non-profit company that my wife worked for as a reading coach for refugee kids in the past .

  • Here is proof of the first half donation:
























  • The second $ 500 donation instead will be given to one/two homeless people in my area, I will provide proof of that too.

I liked @achimmertens's charity initiative that @arcange recommended but I decided to go with my wife's suggestion. To make up for that I transferred to him my previous post payout and he is also

set as 100% beneficiary of this post and the next one.

That's awesome @achimmertens!

1. I was wondering, is there a way to fund your project without having to: 1. buy BTC, 2. trade for HIVE, 3. convert into chary ?
Could funds be sent to your project directly in BTC instead?

I'm concerned about taxes in the US every time you convert a crypto into another.

2. When you're set as beneficiary of a post, does that fund your project automatically or you always need to manually trade? Would be nice if you had a new account that people could set as beneficiary and that automatically trades new funds into chary.

I can't promise anything as I'm super swamped for the next couple weeks but if you have some tutorial on how to automate trades on hive engine I could look into automating that.

Hi @gaottantacinque,
You have found two weakpoints of the chary system

  1. You need to exchange severarl times money
  2. There is no account to send money to, that automatically buys Chary from it.
    We know both and we are searching for answers for it.
    At least the second problems could probably be fixed.

@arcange: can you give us a hint, if it is possible to send money (HIVE) to an account (i.e. @anobel), that buys automatically Chary from it?
Do you know who can help us?

Yes, simply write a script that does it 😁

You need to find some who know Hive-Engine API (sorry, I don't). Maybe on Discord - HiveDevs

@achimmertens I found some material. It’s not as straightforward as I thought but I’ll take a look.I found also a couple other Devs (@rishi556 and @ubg) willing to reply my questions if I need help 👍
