--- Demographie ist ein längerfristiges Problem, Kaiser Xi kann da kurzfristig (Krieg um Taiwan) oder mittelfristig (KP-interne Querelen, Wirtschaftseinbruch, bis hin zum Bürgerkrieg) wesentlich mehr anrichten.
Wenn es nur schlimmer wird

--- Hmm, nur etwas über 4 mio. bei einer Bevölkerung von 1,4 mrd.? Halte ich für stark untertrieben.
Außerdem: Wieviele Männer wurden von ihrer Frau verprügelt?
Gewalt in Beziehungen ist in China weitverbreitet & gesellschaftlich oft sogar akzeptiert. Wenn z.B. auf offener Straße ein Mann eine Frau verprügelt (oder umgekehrt, was auch oft genug vorkommt), kümmert sich da kein Schwein drum.
Frauen mögen da durchaus häufiger die Opfer sein, aber soweit ich das mitgekriegt haben, sind sie häufig auch Täter.

--- Bin mir nicht sicher, ob das symptomatisch ist. Ist wohl eher so, daß in den dortigen Krankenhäusern der Stress in den letzten Monaten enorm war. Gelitten haben natürlich die unteren Ränge am meisten. & da sind leider nunmal Frauen stärker vertreten als Männer.

--- Auch hier gilt: Das hat nichts mit männlich oder weiblich zu tun. Bei häuslicher Gewalt wird grundsätzlich eher nicht eingegriffen, egal von wem sie ausgeht.

--- "Spaßeshalber"? In den englischsprachigen Medien klang das aber anders. Das Restaurant mußte sich sogar entschuldigen.
