My favorite entries for the Secrets of Organ Playing contest, week 44

In this post I give my favorite entries of this week's contest. I have to make this post now as I am on my way to work. I travel by train, so don't worry I am writing this while driving a car. I hope I don't miss any late entries by writing up my preferences a bit early, but I have to do it now, or else after work, when the winner has already been announced.

It is nice to see that the contest is getting some traction. The level of entries is quite high in my opinion. And that makes it of course difficult to make a ranking. The rules allow one to include one's own entry. As tempting as that may be, I decided against it. So, I can only hope someone else votes for me. By the way, my entry is this one: https://steempeak.com/secretsoforganplaying/@partitura/johann-christoph-oley-wie-schoen-leuchtet-der-morgenstern

There are two types of organ music I like the most: German Baroque and French Romanticism. So I was very happy to see and hear two great entries of French Romantic music. I can't make them both my number one favorite so I have to chose. As much as I like the Widor Toccata (who doesn't?) I am a sucker for Vierne. Therefore, my personal favorite:

Nr 1.

@jeremyowens9501's performance of Vierne's Requiem Aeternam.
