Back in the Saddle Again! Classic Rock Comment Contest

avatar

Contest details below...but here's why.

So about 6 weeks ago I tore my meniscus and for a while it looked like surgery was going to be needed. It was decided that physical therapy should be tried first and based on how that worked I'd go under the knife. Luckily PT has worked wonders and after 2 different therapists said they felt I could go back on skates to test out my knee I decided to give it a try last night.

Very happy to say that while I didn't come close to pushing it and avoided any possible hard turns, contact, and never skated full speed the knee held up. Now it felt great last night, but adrenaline can hide a lot of pain so was worried about this morning. Woke up sore...all over...but that happens when you miss even a couple weeks of skating so that was to be expected. Cautiously put my feet to the ground and stood up to find out my knee wasn't hurting...well not anymore then the rest of my body...lol.

And the scorekeeper who controls the on rink music during warms ups played Aerosmith's I'm Back In the Saddle Again as I came onto the rink. He thought it was fitting for my return...lol.

Good to know that you're back to the game again @thedarkhorse! I think they chosen the perfect track for you... anyway😊 I hope you still recognize me 😂

Here is my favourite classic rock piece

I don't know why I love this song while most of times I only listening or playing the jazz tunes😊 back in 2000-2004 when I must replace my fellow radio announcer on a classic rock program every saturday night, this song will always be the closing song of the program and end of the closing tune of our radio station at that time was "we are the champion" by queen.

When I go to karaoke, I'll sing this soldier of fortune.. always😂 I like the melody, the simple lyrics and never get sick and tired to replay it 40 times in a row

Interesting choice. That was on one of my playlists from back when the kids were little and I'd have them in the office while I worked. I hated kids music...just annoying...so I would play calm classic rock for them. Always felt the kids reacted to the music, if it was high energy so where they, if it was calm so where they.

I'm not much of a rock music fan, but I sure enjoyed all of Toby Rand's performances during Rockstar Supernova many years back. He made rock music sound really great!

Wishing you a speedy recovery...

Wishing you a speedy recovery...

Thank you!

Think I like Guns N Roses better, but that is one of the great things about music. Someone can play around with the tempo and melody a little and make a song completely different. Sure the lyrics are the same, but the feeling can change completely.

Because I was only 6 when this concert aired, and my dad taped the entire gig mostly just because my favorite band in the world was playing.. It was recorded on VHS and I've almost wore it out because I'd rewind and watch this concert over and over..

This concert produced the best live versions hands down - this just ended up being my favorite song, along with 'Livin' on The Edge' - - it's hard to pick which one I like best but I've been requesting this song from my Google Home more often lately so there we go..

I wanted to go to that concert so bad...my Parents would hear nothing of it. Was the summer before my senior year of high school and to be fair it was across the country. As a parent now I totally get why they wouldn't let me go...but at the time I wasn't to happy.

I wish you recover soon enough. Knee injuries are always a drag...

I'll go with the forever beautiful Joan Jett. How does she keep her beauty, now that she's almost turning 61? 😍

Had an evaluation today and it went well. Full range of motion on ending my knee, but still 8 degees short on the going straight. 5 more PT sessions left on the original approval from insurance so hopefully that will be enough.

The guitar at the beginning of this song instantly makes me turn up the radio whenever it comes on. Oh and you aren't late....pushing it maybe, but not late.

Glad to hear your recovery is going alright!

Because of my username I just have to go with Thunderstruck by AC/DC for my favorite classic rock song.
