Covid-19 Prediction: A Baby Boom in 9-10 Months and Metzli Reads the News

I must venture to the Dr's office tomorrow, something I wish I didn't have to do, but as they said when they called: "We can't do all your appointments over the phone."

They are wanting to schedule my c-section already and I think it is too soon. Tomorrow, I will hear their reasoning, and present them with mine.

Because I am venturing out of my home, I let myself read the news, I saw THREE positive reports, and stopped at there. I also read only LOCAL news. I didn't let myself worry about LA, the Bay Area, Riverside County, New York, Italy or Spain.

  • San Diego is being affected by coronavirus but at the same time flattening the curve.
  • Children's Hospitals are seeing less cases or respiratory problems and have even shut down an ICY
  • The overall numbers of FLU victims is down.

I believe that NOT reading the news is part of what keeping me sane.

Also, I have to keep my head on extra strong as I keep getting calls from the Dr's office updating me on my medical appointments.

C-section or "normal" delivery, as of now, there will be NO VISITORS OR PARTNERS PRESENT at the time of birth. They keep calling to tell me that. I get it. Leave me alone now!

This scares me a little, not because I will be lonely, but because if something goes wrong, who will be there to welcome my child with love and care?

Which is why everything will just have to go right. And all my mental strength is staying there. I don't have the luxury of worrying about others. I am sheltering in place, and taking great care of my children, leaving only for food (very rarely) and Dr. Appointments, that is all I can give at the moment. I do let myself visit my parents, but they are also taking care of themselves, so that is good.

For a few days I did let myself read the news, and it was very upsetting. What did being upset do for the negative situations around the world? Nothing. What did getting upset do for me on a personal level? Nothing. So I stopped.

I did get a letter from the Elementary Schools being closed for the rest of the year, and

I am betting that there will be a baby boom in the next 9-10 months.

That should be super cool.

What about you? Do you have any predictions of how things will change?

So. I have a question. How will there be a baby boom if one practices social distancing? Just wondering' 😂

Good point!

I believe the opposite.

Most likely the strong survives which @metzli has a strong and positive mindset and will do just fine!

Thank you! Social distancing is going to stop some of the population, but boredom is going to keep the population that is already isolated together... together.

Also. I am hearing a lot from parents of kids who don't have any siblings and they are musing about how they "should" have had siblings for their kids.

I have three kids currently, and they are all cooped up together - but they sure are not lonely!

LOL. I am thinking about all those husbands and wives or boyfriends and girlfriends who can only watch so much tv.

Household goods are running out, I wonder how readily available birth control is???

You will see. I am right! (LOL)

After this crisis there will be a wave of divorces, followed by a baby boom.

Congrats on this! A new reader here! :)

I was reading on Wired.com about Baby Booms and it resonates to what you said.

I believe that NOT reading the news is part of what keeping me sane.

Haha! Absolutely. :)

Even we traders are staying away from NEWS because there's a lot of sensationalism.

It seems like all the people who like to watch sports because they like stats are now watching covid-19 stats.

I am surprised there isn't more betting going on.

Thanks for reading.

Can so relate to that.

It appears the world, literally, is on HOLD.

Been enjoying COVID-19 stats myself. Seems infectious.
