RED ~ The Colour Of Autumn

avatar

Most of the autumn leaves here are a dull yellow or orange.

This makes me really treasure the occasional flash of bright red I see. It cheers me up. I'm calling it Red Therapy. This post is a small collection of recent photos which are all about the colour red. Not necessarily leaves although there are some, but anything red. I'm submitting this post for the Creative Coin Contest, Week 13 by @isaria.

The first thing you need to know about my part of the world is that it rains a lot during autumn. That can be depressing at times so I compensate with Red Therapy and plenty of it. Below: water drops on red flowers.

Rain also means umbrellas so I always look for red ones. (Black umbrellas do nothing for me.)

I enjoy red umbrellas even when it's not raining. The rain stopped today for a while and I captured this shot:

Of course, there are a few red leaves here as well, although they tend to be on trees which are not native to the area. I'm all in favour of imported red leaves. I don't care where they come from!

Here are some more red leaves I saw in the park today. I think these are on a Japanese maple.

Another example... a speeding red motorcycle. What can I say? Red makes me happy.

And finally... yes, it's raining again. What are you gonna do? You guessed it, more Red Therapy. It helps keep me sane.

I love these photos. The Japanese red maple leaves and the fuchsias are particularly lovely. Red Therapy, I like it!

Thank you! I'm not sure if Red Therapy was the best phrase but it's something like that. :-)

It does seem to brighten up your day. It's a wet and gloomy day again today. I may need another dose of red! Thank you :-)

I'm glad you liked that cafe shot, thank you! I took that photo yesterday and all I saw at the time was the red umbrella and the leaves on the ground... I didn't even notice the red maple behind the umbrella until I saw the image on my computer :-)

oh dear @keithboone, your photos are amazing! even if it is against the current I adore autumn and all its colors, I love that atmosphere a little sad, the rain and the smell of wet earth. and I love the red color, the color of the fiery sunset, of the passion, of life. are you a photographer or is it your passion? you are very good :-)) congratulations on your curie rating

It is a beautiful time of year, isn't it? A little bitter-sweet perhaps... I love how you describe the rain, the smell of wet earth. I appreciate your lovely comment. Photography is more of a passion for me than anything else. An occasional source of income, but a life-long quest for beauty :-)

Terrific pictures. The composition in the images of the flowers with water beading on them are magazine-quality Art photographs.

Thanks for the lovely comment and for your support! Creating Art is what I aspire to do and only rarely achieve... it's so nice when something I make gets this sort of reaction! :-)

From luscious, rain drenched flowers to umbrellas to vibrant leaves of the maple tree to the cherry colored chopper your incredible photographs artistically credit the color red unlike I've ever seen done before!

Well done @keithboone & congrats on being Curied!⚘

I stopped here when I read the word autumn. It is the time of the year that I like the most. The colors of the environment are very beautiful, especially the color orange.
The photographs are chévere as I would say in Venezuela.
From now on I will think about the "red therapy" hahaha.
Regards @keithboone
