Rohit Sharma is no stranger to making records and the Indian cricket team opener added another achievement to his already illustrious career during the third ODI against West Indies in Cuttack on Sunday. Rohit went to former Sri Lankan captain Sanath Jayasuriya and became the highest run-scorer in all three formats as an opener. Jayasuriya, a right-hander, had scored 2,387, which he gave to Sheldon Cottrell in the third over of the 1997 encounter.

Earlier, Nicholas Pooran and Kieron Pollard hit West Indies for 315 for five with a half-century.

Puran, who scored 89 off 63 balls and Pollard in his innings of 74, smashed 135 for the fifth wicket as the West Indies put up a daunting challenge at 144 for four at Cuttack.
