MAPX News: Random Upvotes & MAPX Price Rise - 27 July 2019

Sales of MAPX tokens are going well, with some 6,300 sold and about 5597 staked. Today seems yet another sleepy day in the token market! Maybe it's the holiday season. People do take holidays, right?!

Not a lot to report compared to yesterday. Those of you holding MAPX tokens should be pleased to see its market price slowly rising. I don't think there will be too many tokens issued at 1 STEEM going forward; the ABV remains around 1 STEEM but that is less important than the upvote values. The ABV does have value in that it expresses the capital of the fund. This means your investment in MAPX will always have value even if you are not posting regularly.

Indeed, those who do not post daily are doing everybody else a favour! Their "lost" vote is used to increase curation rewards that then increase the SP base and hence the ABV and hence the future price! This, of course, includes the price of those MAPX tokens held by the temporary "non-blogger", so they shouldn't feel so bad as the fund is still working for them.

The new MAPR market is moving slowly. We should see a bit of activity on Monday as the first full profit distribution is made. One heartening thing is that I don't see many "airdropped tokens" being immediately sold off. Apart from those delegators not paying attention (remember the Paying Attention Economy?), those who have messaged me have been happy of the development and seem to be holding on for the longer ride.

One thing to note in these depressing times of depressed prices, is that the Steem macroeconomic system - the vests and rshares that govern the STEEM coin - adjusts itself so that the size of upvotes in STEEM actually increases. Once the price (hopefully) rises again, those extra STEEM will be worth more in Dollar terms.
