Hi!

Vera baked these tasty mocha squares.

They were excellent, albeit a bit sweet. I'm trying to get off sweets. 😅

Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • 3 dl sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 4½ dl wheat flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1½ dl milk
  • 1½ dl liquid margarine

Icing:

  • 75 g margarine or butter
  • 2-3 tbsp cold coffee
  • 2-3 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 3½ dl powdered sugar (icing sugar)

Preparation

  1. Heat the oven to 175°C
  2. Mix vanilla sugar, baking powder and cocoa powder with the wheat flour.
  3. Beat the eggs and sugar into a light and fluffy.
  4. Add dry ingredients gradually alternating with milk and margarine.
  5. Spread the batter on a baking sheet on a tray or pan.
  6. Put the tray in the bottom rack of the oven. Bake for 15 minutes. Let it cool down.

Prepare the icing:

  1. Mix the dry ingredients
  2. Melt the butter / margarine, and mix the rest of the ingredients in. The icing should be thick and shiny. If it is too thick, add some coffee or water.

Spread the icing on top of the cake. You can also decorate it to your liking. Cut the cake into squares.
