The Daily Leo #19 | Building Steem & Our Tribe One Relationship at a Time!
It's been interesting to see all these new tribes popping up. One thing that is concerning is the viability of all these tribes.
Steem is a relatively tight-knit and niche community in and of itself... so how do we support all these various tribes that further divide Steem into different niches?
We have to onboard new users! It's up to the tribes to consistently work on bringing in new users and educate them about Steem.
This is a core focus of Steemleo and we will begin posting some numbers soon.
As of right now, we've gotten about 12 new users who have had no experience with Steem (some having now experience with crypto at all).
All of these users were manually onboarded which is basically par for the course at the moment. There isn't an easy way to automate onboarding, but hopefully that will change with time.
12 people doesn't sound like much, but think about it like this:
If out of 12 people, 4 of them become true Steemians (invest in Steem, talk about Steem to friends, etc.) then they may talk to a few of their friends... Say they each tell 10 friends about Steem and out of 10, 2 of those friends decide to join Steem and #steemleo.. This is how you grow a network.
1 by 1 you can get new users into the Steem ecosystem and create a domino effect. It takes time, patience and a lot of hard work but it can be done and this is how Steemleo will continue to build our tribe. 1 relationship at a time!

Can I suggest to reward 50 LEO or some amount of LEO as an incentive to join @steem.leo? If someone can bring another user, he can get another 25 LEO. Referral with proper incentive can work as wonder. Moreover, LEOs from the unsold sell order can be used as an incentive rather than burning.
That's a cool idea. We have the bounty fund set aside for onboarding initiatives such as that. If we can get a site with referral links going, that could really catch on like wildfire. We'll talk with our devs and see what's possible, thanks for the suggestion!

I've been always wondering - why so many people spent that much time and energy in getting new people onboard, and putting almost no effort to reach out to those who stop being active.
I'm always looking for those followers of mine, who stopped posting and were not present for 2-3 weeks. Reaching out to them and showing that someone care is what it usually takes to bring them back before they will be gone.
That really works.
