Up at a reasonable time today; ‘round about seven thirty. First checked the crypto markets and saw that bitcoin is still breaking bearish.

There seems to be some support, at least temporarily, around $7100 or so. I’m really looking for a rise in LTC while BTC is taking a dive...would help me complete my trade, at least without losing value.

Hoping that sometime soon there will be an easier way to buy Steem than having to make three different trades on two different exchanges. I hear that SE may be making some strides toward making the process from fiat to Steem easier, we’ll see how much that means loss on withdrawal fees.

Did the usual morning stuff: curation, check out notifications on discord, play a bit of SM, do the dishes, watch some YouTube. The usual.

Don’t really have any good excuse as to why I didn’t go out today...it wasn’t raining or anything, I just didn’t really feel like it. I was going to wait until later in the afternoon but then I realized that it was Witness Chat today. It’s pretty amazing that between posting every day and the actual exercise, I feel really slackery when I don’t have my maps. 😢

Still, I did do plenty of laps around the living room to get my steps in, but those certainly wouldn’t make for a very interesting map. 😜

In the afternoon, like I said, was the monthly Witness Chat over on The Ramble. Most of the talk today was about the rumor that Tron is purchasing Steemit Inc. and about those nasty downdoots.

As far as the Tron rumor goes, it seems to be nothing more than that, a rumor. It appears to have started in Chinese social media somewhere but isn’t confirmed either by Steemit or Tron. Lots of opinions about what would happen if it were to be true, mostly (legit) concern regarding who would control the stake.

Regarding downdoots, most in attendance were in agreement that they suck and are primarily abuse (especially free ones that are an invitation to abuse). However, there was a small minority who continue to argue that they are necessary so long as there is a single reward pool. The proposed “solution,” it seems, is that Steem should become a utility token and post rewards will come from smts.

To be honest, I’m not really sure that sits well with me. I invested in Steem, relying on the creation of a thousand community tokens to save it seems foolhardy. It’s not that I don’t like tribe tokens, to contrary, I certainly value and collect them, but their value to me is ultimately that I could sell them to Steem and increase my power on the main blockchain, not just in a limited community.

Today my daily Steemmonsters quest was the fire splinter. That made for a relatively easy time, but I held off completing the quest until I got into Gold I! 😃. Sound like SM has got some pretty big announcements coming in the next couple months. Aggroed said they would be good for “everybody, not just Splinterlands.” 😉

As you can see, I didn’t do too badly today. Keeping in the 2500’s.

I really like the additional rewards cards, so bought yet another quest potion charge with DEC today. ☺️

In the evening I gave the trigonometry final exam. As I suspected, it was long. I gave them twenty minutes extra and there were still three people working on it, but I think most of the others just skipped problems. We’ll see.

Tomorrow I give the calculus final. It’s a lot more reasonable, and we have a longer class period.
